Courses at Vrindavan Institute For Highter Education

The Vrindavan Institute For Highter Education (VIHE) in the 2013-2014 semesters offers Bhakti-shastri in English as well as Hindi starting July 9, 2013. The two courses will run in parallel and will conclude on November 2.

the Bhakti-shastri course includes the study of Shrimad Bhagavad-gita, the Nectar of Devotion, the Nectar of Instruction, Shri Ishopanishad, an introduction to Deity worship, and a workshop covering Sanskrit pronunciation and shloka memorization. Shrila Rupa Goswami’s disappearance festival will be celebrated on August 17 and 18.

the winter semester will begin on December 15, 2013 and continue till March 31, 2014. During that period the VIHE will offer the opportunity to study Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 1,2 and 3 in the context of Bhakti-vaibhava studies. The course includes seminars on Sanskrit meters, the 10 Topics of Srimad Bhagavatam and the Southern Ocean of the Nectar of Devotion.

The VIHE also holds retreats every year right after Kartik. This year’s Japa & Kirtana Retreat is scheduled for November 20 to 25, 2013. The Govardhana Retreat will be from November 29 to December 5, 2013.
