WORLD September 28, 1999 VNN4819 Comment on this story Srila Prabhupada's Sannyas Anniversary Not Celebrated At Iskcon Vrindavan VRINDAVAN, INDIA, Sep 28 (VNN) — On the 40th Anniversary of Srila Prabhupada taking Sannyas there was no celebrations at ISKCON, Vrindavan. While at Srila Narayan Maharaj's math in Mathura celebrations and feast were held, the day was not even mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavatam Class at ISKCON, Vrindavan. The Temple President of ISKCON, Vrindavan being a staunch Ritvik supporter has totally ignored this important event which took place in Mathura 40 years ago. Apparently, he has been so much involved in keeping his position intact and what to speak about now as these things are being done through the courts in India. Many GBC members and senior devotees agree he is not qualified to be in this position but because of the Ritvik cases in India it is difficult to take any action against the Temple Presidents, what to speak about someone who is a staunch Ritvik supporter. Have we reached such a stage in our society that Srila Prabhupada's home ISKCON Vrindavan and such a important event was totally ignored?
