Jayapataka Swami Endorses Srila Prabhupada's Poisoning

BY RADHAPRAN DAS

INDIA, Jul 15 (VNN) — Jayapataka Swami endorses Srila Prabhupada's Poisoning - The Blame Now Goes to the Gaudiya Matha?

by Radhapran das, Vice-president - Bukit Mertajam Temple

Amidst the various opinions made regarding the alleged poisoning of our beloved spiritual master His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, H.H. Jayapataka Maharaja has made several very significant comments during his recent-most tour of Malaysia in June.

During a private darshan at Bukit Mertajam on 12 June 1999, Bhaktin Mala, a local devotee, put forth questions to Jayapataka Swami on the poison issue. Also present during the darshan were other local devotees such as H.G. Krishna Parayana das, H.G. Guna Avatar das, their respective wives, etc.

In reply, Maharaja indicated that Srila Prabhupada had been close to the Gaudiya Matha during his final days on the planet and had taken food from them. He even went on to remark in his own words that "they (The Gaudiya Matha) might have done it (poisoned Prabhupada)".

Jayapataka Swami's statements come as a deviation from the hitherto known stand of the ISKCON establishment on the poison issue. The implications that may be inferred from his statements are as follows :-

1. A change from the position of "no poisoning" to one of possible poisoning. It has now become evident that each time doubts are put forth to the senior ISKCON men within the GBC on the issue, so many contradictory answers have emerged. The same person furthermore gives different answers at different times. Truth never changes. Ineffective lies do. The pretext of Srila Prabhupada's pure devotee status rendering any poisoning possibility a myth, has now been dumped for yet another, ie. Admitting to the possible poisoning and the deflection of the blame to the Gaudiya Matha.

2. The Gaudiya Matha's alleged role aside, it leaves those with access to the "poison tapes" with one important question to ask and ponder over :- "The clear whispers indicating poisoning - where did they come from?" Certainly no whisper is powerful enough to travel from the Gaudiya Matha to Srila Prabhupada's room in 1977 !!!!!!

3. The allegation of Srila Prabhupada having taken food from the Gaudiya Matha. It was known that only 2 important persons had access to Srila Prabhupada's prasadam arrangement, ie. H.H. Tamal Krishna Goswami and H.H. Bhakticaru Swami. Where does the Gaudiya Matha come in here?

Given Jayapataka Swami's spectacular revelation, it leaves us with little to consider regarding the non-feasibility of Srila Prabhupada's being poisoned. That a senior sannyasi, GBC member and present guru has admitted to the poisoning possibility speaks volumes about the dirty games that have gone on behind the scene during Srila Prabhupada's final days of his manifest presence on this planet. More interestingly a twist has been added to the still unfolding plot. The Gaudiya Matha has now been brought into the picture. Whether their role in the crime is factual or a mythical creation on the part of possibly guilty ISKCON men seeking to deflect blame away from themselves, has yet to be determined. Perhaps only Krishna's most powerful agent, time, can answer these questions.
