WORLD  Harvey Aka Haridas BY TARUN KRSNA DAS USA, Feb 24 (VNN) — Yes, before there was ISKCON, before there was any GBC... there was Harvey aka Haridas. Remember 94 Bowery? That's right. Where Srila Prabhupada stayed. It's 1965-6 tenant has reappeared. When? Where? How? He met 'July9th' aka MdAs at 14 St Union Square, Manhattan. July 9th was distributing Srila Prabhupad's books in full devotee attire when he was approached by a middle-aged person who humbly, gradually revealed his transcendental identity and connection. He agreed to attend our Sunday Feast at St Mark's & 1st Ave. When we realized who he was we began to bombard him with inquiry. He was gracious enough to field all our questions with fully ecstatic patience. Harvey 1st met Srila Prabhupada at Dr. Mizra's Ashram Upstate NY. Weeks later Srila Prabhupada then known as Swamiji needed a place. Harvey offered to share his coldwater Bowery flat with Swamiji. Just before leaving 94 Bowery, Swamiji initiated him "Haridas".
