WORLD July 1, 2000 VNN6067 Comment on this story A Sad Official Communication BY SWAMI B.A. PARAMADVAITI  INDIA, Jul 1 (VNN) — Dear Vaisnava and friends, Dandavat Pranams. This is the sad official communication about the departure from this world of Sriman Saksi Gopal Prabhu, my dear secretary and helper in the service of Srila Prabhupada. Since my Lord Krishna is the controller of birth and death I do not dare to complain. For some unknown reason Sriman Saksi Gopal was murdered and his body disposed of on the street of Agra Mathura Delhi road. We are celebrating his sacred memory on the 6 of July in Bogota Colombia. He was very dear to many devotees. We will have a play written by him called "The court case against humanity". He was a great writer and actor. All that he did in Vrindavan was so important and letters of memory and love are coming from all sides. I personally will miss him a lot. But I am still happy that he was able to leave this world in Vrindavan and not in the streets of Bogota. That may not sound like a nice statement. But we know that Krishna loves Saksi Gopal as he is beloved by many devotees. Krishna, for his own reasons, kept him in Vrindavan eternally. His sister went to India, we located his body and identified him. That in itself was difficult since his body had been badly deteriorated by the cars and animals. Also there was no possibility to conduct an autopsy. We know Yamaraj will chastise the criminals involved in this crime. I am personally grateful to all the kind letters and suggestions regarding his departure. we have a collection of money to pay if someone can bring us a clue as who was the criminal. In India usually there is little or no investigation on such situations. We will offer a reward. I am still checking with other senior people in Vrindavan how to go about this investigation. The loss of Saksi Gopal Prabhu will be remembered for a long time. He was the loving guide to the pilgrims and helped in many important projects of Vrinda and the World Vaisnava Association, Mandal Media, Vrinda Bookstore, Temple restoration projects and a host of other services. He would never tire. May Srimati Radharani bestow her special mercy upon him. I thank all those who shared their feelings of love with us in that difficult moment.
