About the Author: Originally from Osterkappein, Germany Srila B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami Maharaj met
his eternal spiritual master, Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in 1971 and
a year later, at the age of eighteen, received initiation from His Grace in Paris. His
prayers of many years had been answered and a new stage of his life had begun. He
quickly dedicated himself to an in-depth study of his masterās teachings and the
distribution of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhuās message in Europe as well as America. At
twenty-four, he received the sacred order of the renounced life of Sannyasa.
In the service of his Guru he opened spiritual communities (ashrams), and preaching
centers in Berlin, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, the United States, Brazil and other
Latin American countries. He supervised the publication of his spiritual masterās
writings in many different languages and traveled around the world many times to
spread the transcendental message of the Veda.
After his spiritual master left this planet, he followed the recommendation of his Guru
to further his studies with his Guruās intimate spiritual brother, Srila B. R. Sriddhar
Maharaj, in India. Profoundly inspired by his masters, he returned to the West to
accept disciples in the disciple succession. He also established spiritual embassies
in Vrindavan, India, to intimately connect his family and the ashrams in the West with
the Vaishnavas in India and the sacred dham of Krishna.
Srila B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami has written and edited various books, of which many
have been translated into other languages. The books that he has edited include,
among others: The Secrets of a Yogi, Mysterious India, The Vaisnava Songbook, The
Confidential Science of Bhakti Yoga, and The Heart of Krishna. Among his own
writings we have: The First Spiritual Master of Colombia, The Bhagavad Gita - Ciencia
Suprema, The Liberated Woman, Vaisnava Etiquette, Married Coupleās Manual, The
Game of Self Realization, Pracaramrita ö The Nectar of Preaching, The Iniciation ö
Born Again, The Search for Purity, Manual for Spiritual Community Directors, Our
Family ö The Gaudiya Math, etc. He also published The Correspondence Yoga
Course, and various other written summaries of the ancient and very practical Vedic
Literature of India. His written works are found in German, Spanish, Portuguese,
English, Hungarian, Hindi and Bengali.
Srila B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami is the founder of the Superior Institute of Vedic Studies
(ISEV) in South America as well as the Vrindavan Institute of Vaisnava Culture and
Studies, Inc. (Vrinda) in India with centers in many parts of the world. For four years,
he served as the first secretary of the World Vaisnava Association in India; an
association initiated by the greatest philosophic exponent of the Vaisnava School,
Srila Jiva Goswami, 450 years ago, and whose aim is to unite the Vaishnavas around
the world.
Srila B. A. Paramadvaiti Swami explains, "I served my spiritual master, Srila
Prabhupada, in ISKCON from 1971 until he left the world in 1977. Later, I received
continued heartfelt inspiration from my Sannyas Guru, Srila Sriddhar Maharaj. With
him I learned the importance of unity in diversity. I founded my mission on the basis of
the loving principle of inspiration instead of institutional imposition. It was with this
spirit that I was brought to accept disciples in the continuation of the service of my
masters."
The Vrinda Mission has since, and continues to grow rapidly. Many spiritual brothers
are inspired by Srila Paramadvaiti Maharajās work and they support him. Some of
them have united with him, including Srila Atulananda Acarya, one of Prabhupadaās
first disciples in South America and currently a spiritual master within Vrinda.
Srila Paramadvaiti Swami Maharaj is a writer, poet, publisher, lecturer, educator,
philosopher and temple architect. As an acarya, a spiritual master, and founder of his
own spiritual mission, he has hundreds of disciples in more than twenty countries
around the world. He travels to over 100 centers throughout the Americas, Europe and
India giving conferences on a daily basis in various languages including German,
Spanish, English, and Portuguese. He is front line in printing transcendental literature
and establishing spiritual oasis for the enlightenment, study and practice of Bhakti
yoga. Having a very special way of presenting the Vedic literature, he has won the
affection of many people including leaders of India and important personalities within
politics, art and religious arenas of various countries; wining fame and recognition.
None of these, however, have been able to reduce his innate qualities based in
humility, purity, wisdom, simplicity, the desire to support others, erudition and
practical knowledge in many sciences.
Actually he is serving the Word Vaishnava Associattion as Co-ordinator of the WVA-
VVRS Siddhanta Guru Varga Dignity Committee, a Committee dedicated to promote,
study, investigate the Siddhanta Guru Varga in connection with the Florida Vedic
College and other Vaishnava academies, doing everything possible to please all
Vaisnavas and preserve, promote and understand the pure Siddhanta in the Gaudiya
Vaisnava Sampradaya.
