Special Tulasi House Rises In Alachua
BY DRAVINAKSA DAS, HORTICULTURIST
ALACHUA, FL, Dec 10 (VNN) Simply by seeing or touching Srimate Tulasi Devi all sins are destroyed! To honor this most beloved devotee of Krishna a beautiful Tulasi conservatory is being built in New Ramana Reti, Alachua, Florida. It is a very special building that enthusiastic devotees of Srimati Tulasi Devi are contributing to from around the world.
Mother Prafullamukhi, Tulasi's caretaker, chose the Victorian design and we have adapted it to local materials. Her son Ben and Akincana Krsna's son Chris, both famous for their professional building skills, have been contracted to construct the house. Bhakta Clay, NRR's miracle maintenance man, built a solar tracking device to assure the building site has maximum sunlight in the winter.
Locally milled cypress beams form the super structure. Cypress is a naturally insect repellant wood. " To further the longevity of the frame we floated the vertical posts on lexan plates." says Bhakta Clay.
The roof will be clad with a double wall lexan greenhouse glazing that is much stronger than glass and better insulated. The side glass are insulated double hung vinyl clad windows. Ben chose high quality, low maintenance material through out the house and his joinery work on the beams show devoted attention to detail. " I've reworked the roof to let in more light and added metal bracing in each corner for extra strength. It's going to be a beautiful building."
Radha Jivana Prabhu has donated over half of the $20,000 budget, I have donated the lighting and enthusiastic servants of Srimate Tulasi Devi are chipping in what they can to complete the project. You can participate!
