WORLD October 9, 1999 VNN4895 Comment on this story New Center In Victoria B.C. BY SATYAHIT DAS VICTORIA B.C, Oct 9 (VNN) — Jai Srila Prabhupada! Victoria B.C now has a new center recently opened by Dhutidhar swami of Swami Mills Saranagati which is in the hills outside of Ashcroft B.C. The swami has 30 acres there which he has made available to many new comers by providing small cabins and/or space for trailers, etc. The group is doing Hari nam daily and inviting new comers back to the center on Princess street which is nicely located and not far from downtown picturesque Victoria noted for its high level of tourism all year long. The Hari nam group has been situating themselves in front of the famed Empress Hotel or on the cause way down by the water. Also in Victoria are various other groups of old and new devotees. One such group is called the Pacific Theatre Rama Society along with the Nityananda Baul Bajan Band made up of Satyahit das, on jimbe, Madhu Pandit prabhu of famed Ramayana directing /acting ability, on the iron guitar, (debreau), Alan Nityananda das, on chimes, and Madhu dasi on guitar/singing. We are currently shooting video footage daily of our kirtans led by Madhu Pandit and our yoga sessions wherein Satyahit das, known also as Iron Guitar das Ananda, sings while others go through their yoga exercise routines. This has been performed in the lovely Beacon Hill park daily all summer long and still continuing until a winter space is located for our troupe of devotees. Along with all the video footage we are accumulating, including interviews with devotees new and old, (i.e. Swami Dhutidhar has been taking on disciples, such as Hari Das, who has been interviewed on this subject), we are also writing script for a series of skit/plays, (black or dark comedy), under the heading of Coffee with Krsna, with your hosts, Keith Coffee, and Jerry Krsna . If this sounds bizarre then the actual completed videos, which will be offered to the public, should really impress you if you are fond of the unusual. The play will begin with Alan Nityananda das, who has become a guru, worshipping a picture of himself upon his altar at home on his yacht at Fishermans Wharf. We are somewhat concerned that assassins may be sent out to finish us all off and we are going ahead with the project on a daily basis. Keep in mind that we are producing film meant to tickle the funny bone, along with well done bajans and kirtans, interviews, and comments on the news. Madhu Pandit formerly produced an audio cassette called Radio Ram which is simultaneously interesting, thoughtful and spiritually educational, wherein a doctor who performed abortions for a living, dies in a car accident and is quickly taken to the talk show of Don Yamaraj, where the bad doctor is tried for his crimes and sentenced to take birth within the womb many many times without coming out alive for a long time period.
