Help The Widows Of Vrindavan
BY RAGHUNATHA ANUDASA
USA, Jun 27 (VNN) Here's a piece about the widows of Vrindavan. It really shook me up. For two reasons, 1) it reminded me of my feeling for them when I use to stare at them in quiet horror as a child in guru-kula 2) it's relatively easy to help them.
In short, just $10 a month -- $400 rupees - would be sufficient to help them meet their basics -- if it were not stolen from by some bandits etc. All it would take is someone in Vrindavan - such as Smara Hari or Vidya to oversee its disbursement, etc., and then volunteers here. Is there anyone who can help put this together. If I was in Vrindavan, I would do it personally. rarely could one do so much for so little - just $10. These are poor widows, devotees and Vrindavan Brajabasi's. What could be more auspicious. I will be happy to collect for free on this end or help someone collect, but only if there is someone in India who can make sure this money -- 100% -- goes to them (no management fees) and that these women are then not taken advantage of.
Is there anyone there who would be interested in helping put this together? First, someone in Vrindavan that I can trust and secondly, lets start getting pledges here. Anyone have recommendations or volunteers for either function or other ideas - please let me know.
