Law Firm To Pursue Class-Action Lawsuit Against ISKCON
BY (NAME WITHHELD)
USA, May 9 (VNN) Any abuse victim who is asked to sign a waiver by a member of ISKCON should first contact either Pam Reeves or Lori Watson at 800-692-4025 (pamr@wturley.com)!
Dear Prabhus,
Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Krishna has apparently manifested in the form of a big lawsuit to annihilate the miscreants, and to protect his devotees, the thousands of victims abused by ISKCON leaders!
I've learned that a meeting took place on Wednesday, May 5th, at the Law Offices of Windle Turley, P.C. (http://www.wturley.com, 800-692-4025, turley@wturley.com), regarding their proposed child abuse lawsuit against ISKCON. The Turley law firm is famous for having won the largest sexual child abuse judgement in history: $120 million for a case involving 11 altar boy who were sexually abused by a Catholic priest.
Attending this meeting were Ms. Pam Reeves (pamr@wturley.com), a legal assistant, and Ms. Lori Watson, an attorney. Both ladies are from the law firm's criminal negligence department, and both have been working on this case for the past several weeks. In addition to Mr. Turley himself, various paralegals were also present.
I was able to contact Ms. Reeves concerning the results of this meeting. When asked whether Mr. Turley had decided to go ahead with this case, she emphatically stated, "Yes, he has!"
She also said that they are presently most interested in talking to anyone who:
1. Was emotionally, physically or sexually abused in the USA as a minor by a member of ISKCON.
2. Has information about the names and locations of past or present ISKCON schools (gurukulas) in the USA.
3. Knows the legal names of any of the GBC members.
4. Knows the email addresses, phone numbers, or locations of any of the GBC members.
5. Knows the legal names, addresses or phone numbers of any ISKCON properties in the USA.
6. Has information about Los Angeles being ISKCON's present or former world headquarters.
7. Has information which would tend to indicate that ISKCON is actually one organization, such as the following:
a. ISKCON corporation bylaws which state that the GBC must be followed.
b. ISKCON corporations which are financially involved with the BBT headquarters in Los Angeles.
c. ISKCON corporations which are legally obligated to recognize the authority of the GBC property trustees.
d. Evidence that the GBC has the power to kick ISKCON members out of temples, replace temple officers, or influence temple management in other ways.
Ms. Reeves confirmed that if anyone makes it difficult and hence more time consuming to get any of the above information, it may end up costing ISKCON more money in legal fees, should ISKCON happen to lose this court case.
As mentioned above, some information about the GBC is needed.
Below is a list of the current GBC men. If you know the legal names of any of them, please let me know.
We also need to know the legal/spiritual names of any former GBC men and past/current ISKCON education authorities.
Please pray with me that truth and justice may ultimately prevail in this difficult struggle.
