WORLD April 27, 1999 VNN3709 India's Government and Vedic Ideals BY VRINDAVAN PARKER INDIA, Apr 27 (VNN) — Events of past few days in India, are well known. The Bharatiya Janata Party was, once again, cheated out of doing its job of governing India. The BJP government represents the 1st time in over a thousand years that a government based on Vedic ideals has been in power over the nation of India,as a whole. There is an urgent need to fax or email a letter to the President to either reinstate the Vajpayee govt. or call for fresh elections. In an unprecedented move, the President of India, K.R. Narayanan, has given Italian born, Catholic Sonia Maino Gandhi extra time to pull toghether a coalition government. Sonia Maino Gandhi is dedicated to removing the influence of Vedic culture, spirituality and religion of any form, from the government of India. Sonia and associates are so dedicated to this cause, that they are even considering the head of the Communist Party of India, Mr Basu, for Prime Minister. This is of course their second option, after Sonia herself. Though the BJP has already rendered 270 votes of support to be reinstated, and Sonia has only mustered 233, the President is bowing to Western preassure to allow Sonia to be Prime Minister. Anyone with an understanding of India's history can recognize that this is a great threat and injustice. Ever since The Islamic invasions of India, India has not had a government based on Vedic Ideals and principles. The BJP's 13 months in office, are the closest thing India has had to a government based on the indigenous Vedic culture in over a thousand years. The BJP Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is a well-known admirer of Srila Prabhupada and his work. No other Prime Minister of India has ever shown the respect and appreciation of Srila Prabhupada that Vajpayee has shown. No other Prime Minister ever attended an Iskcon Temple opening or spoke so publicly and eloquently about Srila Prabhupada. It behooves all devotees, followers and admirers of Vedic Culture to support the Bharatiya Janata Party in its hour of need. The Bharatiya Janata Party represents the only credible and political world organization that is committed to bringing back the ideals and principals of the World's Ancient Vedic Culture. You can help by appealing to India's President. Ask him to restore the BJP or at least call for new elections, which the BJP is sure to win. You must request the leader of an alternative formation to show the majority support of members of parliament in writing, and the verification of these support letters must be confirmed by individual members or party leaders in person. If such support does not materialize for any alternative formation, we request you either invite Vajpayee again or call for national elections. It is one of the most ancient nations, as well. India, however has had the great misfortune of being a subject nation for the past 1000 years. Not until the BJP was in office has India had a government based on the principles of the Indian culture and people. Though Indira, Nehru etc. may have had their good points, they were not accessing the true and unique potential of India,ie. its glorious heritage. Many of India's ideas in government, social welfare, science, education are being applied throughout the world. This is benefiting the world at large. However it has been a tendency for the Indian government to ignore its own indigenous strengths and rely on shoddy imitations from the West. This is the root of India's problems. The Congress Party had many years at the helm of the Indian government. Instead of using this time to bring excellence to India, they have instead squandered India's potential and are factually to blame for India's current instability. This is why they have failed to win the mandate of the Indian people. The events on April 17,1999, Saturday, were a virtual coup which has ominous implications for India's near future.
