WORLD March 22, 1999 VNN3391 Srila Bhakti Surit Akinchana Maharaj Departs From This World BY WVA  INDIA, Mar 22 (VNN) — Maharaj was a founding member of the World Vaisnava Association' Visva Vaisnava Raj Sabha. Maharaj was the Acarya of the Gaudiya Sangha, a mission which was started by his Guru Maharaj Srila Bhakti Saranga Goswami Maharaj. Maharaj traveled and preached extensively and was the beloved of all who got to know him. Maharaj preached in several of the gatherings of the World Vaisnava Association and visited many centers of other member missions as well.Maharaj was the caretaker of the holy Imli Tala temple next to the Yamuna. Suddenly he departed at the age of 78 from this world. Just the day before his departure, he was still preaching to his disciples. Thousands came to take darshan at his samadhi ceremony. His samadhi is situated in the Nanadan Acarya Bhavan in Sridham Mayapur where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu first met with Sri Nityananda Prabhu.
