WORLD January 19, 1999 VNN2882 Srila Narayan Maharajji's Appearance Day 17th BY RAJAN  INDIA, Jan 19 (VNN) — JANUARY DELHI CELEBRATIONS REPORTSunday 17th January, the 78th Appearance Day of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami Maharaja was celebrated with traditional fervor and enthusiasm throughout the world as also in Delhi by His Disciples. The Venue chosen was The Sri-Sri Radha-Krishna Temple, Asola Village in the outskirts of the city. On the main road leading to the village posters with Srila Maharajji's picture and the detailed programme of events of the Day were put up everywhere . The 3 Kilometer stretch from the main road to the temple had cloth banners and flags lined all along the way, signifying the Divine Celebrations. People from the nearby villages and also from far-off areas were seen coming in tempos, cars, scooters, cycles and also by foot. The Temple itself was amply decorated. Two separate enclosures were made one for the Pravachan and the other for Prasadam. The former one being decorated with flowers, balloons etc. A beautiful altar made of flowers ensconced The Pictures of Srila Param Guru Deva along with Srila Maharaja. The programme began around 10 a.m. and continued till the evening. The Speakers included Shri NarHari Prabhuji, Savita Didi (who had come from Vrindavan for Guru Puja), Kashyapji, Ajay Kapoorji and Ramchandra Prabhuji. Everyone told about the Glories of a Guru and the their Divine experiences in Srila Maharajji's Association. Savita Didi narrated an incident that occurred some time ago when an old woman, a Disciple of Srila Maharajji just before leaving her material body had told her relatives that "Look my Guru Maharaja is Here, to take me to Vrindavan" and then immediately left this world. Ajay Kapoorji narrated extracts about Srila Maharajji from Srila Param Guru Deva's just published Lilamrita. Ram Chandra Prabhuji at the end recited a poem in Hindi penned for the occasion the title of which meant 'My Eyes were filled with tears of Joy... The day I met Srila Gurudeva' The poem further had an interesting stanza which explained that how everyone was bound to be attracted by Srila Maharajji's blue eyes and if by chance someone missed the eyes then he would be surely attracted by the Divine Hari-Katha flowing from Maharajji's Lips. He also announced that Srila Maharajji had sent His Blessings for all the devotees and we must realize that He is evidently present here to accept our obeisances. This was followed by the Srila Guru Deva's Aarti and everyone offered Pushpanjali. Next was the Prasadam distribution wherein the local people assisted the devotees in serving everyone present. While the Prasadam was going on the local MLA also arrived at the temple and offered his respects to Srila Maharajji and had Prasadam along with the Devotees. The distribution continued till the evening were more than 3000 people took Prasadam, thanks to the excellent arrangement made by NarHari Prabhuji.
