(PTI): A police team from Kolkata today conducted a search at the city branch of ISKCON on suspicion that four persons wanted in connection with alleged misappropriation of funds in the Kolkata branch of the organisation, were hiding here.
ISKCON authorities opposed the search, but relented after the police team produced a warrant.
The Kolkata police had enlisted the support of local police during the search, police said here.
The 30-minute-long operation proved futile for the police team, as none of the accused was found.
The Kolkata police have spread their dragnet for four persons including former Chairman, Vice-Chairman and two trustees, who have been facing charges of misappropriation of funds.
Devotees who had thronged the temple and onlookers gathered in sizeable strength when the police team was engaged in the search operation.
