Bhagvata Saptah In Pune

INDIA, Jan 20 (VNN) — The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Pune had organised a series of spiritual discourses, Bhagvata Saptah from December 25-31. The well-attended series had speaker Loknath Swami highlighting means to inner satisfaction and world peace. The programme included presentations of devotional music and skits.

Green ventures

The WWF-India, Pune division and The Solitude, a company involved in the business of promoting and developing farm house plots, jointly organised a tree plantation programme on October 26 at Mugaon, situated along the backwaters of the Warasgaon dam.

Three hundred participants, comprising The Solitude members, WWF volunteers and WWF Nature Club members from S.V. Union High School and Ahilya Devi Girls High School gathered together and planted 3000 indigenous saplings in the day-long programme.

Neelim Kumar Khaire, director, Katraj Snake Park, was the chief guest.

On this occasion, Khaire and all the participants took a pledge to conserve nature. Certificates were distributed to all those who took part.

Insuring a meet A conference of the divisional managers, western zone was organised by the United India Insurance Co. Ltd, Pune regional office at Hotel Sun-N-Sand on January 6. Hundred and thirty officers attended the meet. The conference was inaugurated by chairman V Jagannathan. In his address, Jagannathan urged employees to strengthen their efforts especially in the light of growing private competition. He also announced that the company had posted best results during the financial year 2001-02.
