  Sri Caitanya-Bhagavata

  BY VRAJRAJ PRESS

USA, Oct 2 (VNN) Vrajraj Press is happy to announce the release of the fourth volume of their English translation of Sri Caitanya-bhagavata. This edition of Sri Caitanya-bhagavata includes verse transliterations and complete translations of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura's chapter summaries and purports. The previously released first three volumes cover the complete Adi-khanda as well as Madhya-khanda, Chapters One through Seven, while the newly released volume covers Madhya-khanda, Chapters Eight through Seventeen.
Sri Caitanya-bhagavata, the authorised biography of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, was written by Srila Vrindavana Dasa Thakura, who is accepted by all Gaudiya Vaisnavas as the incarnation of Vyasadeva in Lord Caitanya's pastimes. Sri Caitanya-bhagavata is glorified in Sri Caitanya-caritamrta by Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami, particularly in the Adi-lila, Chapter Eight, wherein Srila Prabhupada comments, "...it is a great aid for the common man to read Srila Vrndavana dasa Thakura's Caitanya-bhagavata, for thus he can actually understand devotional service, Krsna, Lord Caitanya and Nityananda."

The purports of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura illuminate the text, reveal the essence of pure devotional service, and reject that which is not in strict accordance with the line of Rupa Gosvami.
