Jagannatha Puri Parikrama Schedule With Srila Narayana Maharaja

Dear Devotees,

This year, Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti, under the auspicious blessings of its present president and acarya, Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Vamana Maharaja, and vice president Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja, is arranging for the devotees to observe the last 15 days of Sri Purusottama Vrata in Sri Purusottama Dhama (Jagannatha Puri).

For 15 days, between October 2 (Purnima) and October 16 (Amavasya) 2001, there will be lectures on Srimad-Bhagavatam, Sri Caitanya-caritamrta and other bhakti literatures; kirtana, darshan and parikrama of Sri Jagannathaji and other famous pastime-places. The festival will be organised by Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja, and the leading tridandi sannyasis and brahmacaris of the Samiti.

We cordially invite everyone to come and join this festival which will be very inspiring. The total cost is Rs. 2300 or US $50 only. This amount will cover prasadam, bus-fares and simple lodging for the entire 15 days. This excludes travel to and from Puri Dhama.

Tentative schedule for parikramas during Sri Purusottama Vrata 2001

First day - Sri Gambhira, Siddha Bakula (Haridasa Thakura's bhajana-kuti), Sveta Ganga, Sri Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya's residence, Sri Jagannatha Mandira.

Second day - Appearance-place of Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada, Jagannatha Vatika, Sri Gundica Mandira, Sri Nrsimhadeva, Sri Indradyumna Sarovara, etc.

Third day - Bhajana-kuti of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada, Cataka Parvata, Tota Gopinatha, darshans of different Sri Gaudiya Mathas, Yamesvara Tota, etc.

Fourth day - The well of Sri Paramananda Puri, Lokanatha Mahadeva, etc.

Fifth day - Narendra Sarovara, Markandeya Sarovara, etc.

Sixth dayśCakratirtha, Bankim Muhana, Bedi Hanuman.

Seventh day - Alalanatha, Bentapura (Sri Ramananda Raya's residence), Madhavi devi's residence.

Eight day - Konarka Suryamandira etc.

Ninth day - Bhubanesvara, Lingaraja, Ananta Vasudeva, Bindu Sarovara, Gauri Kunda, Dhavalagiri, Udayagiri etc.

Tenth day - Sri Saksi Gopala, the bank of Dandabhanga Nadi, Atharaha Nala, the pada-pitha of Srila Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada and other pastime-places.

To complete the 15 days this schedule will be interspersed with days when there will be darshans and Hari-katha. Although not included in the schedule, separate arrangements can also be made for devotees to have darshan of Sri Nilamadhava.
