Bail Granted To Sudarshan Dasa
INDIA, May 20 (VNN) Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,
PAMHO. AGTSP! Jaya Jagannatha Swami!
Today the judge of the Puri District Court Judge B.K. Patel granted bail to Sudarshan dasa Mohapatra and two other local men who had been arrested by Tyaga Rajan's Crime Branch officers over the past few weeks.
The bail amount was fixed at 20,000 Rupees per person and all three have made bail and been released the same day.
Still Bhakta dasa, Mandali Bhadra, Mayapur Chandra, and Ashok Sahoo are imprisoned and have no idea when they will be allowed bail or a trial. Ashok Sahoo has been in the Puri jail since July 16, 2000, Mandali Bhadra and Bhakta dasa since August 21, 2000, and Mayapur Chandra since August 29, 2000.
As the original complainant Maria Schmidova returned to Vienna, Austria on September 1, 2000, and then on March 30, 2001 admitted in the Austrian court that the entire case was a fabrication and she was instigated to make the case by the local police and prosecutors, still the Indian "authorities" have turned a blind eye.
We are informed by most reliable sources that Suddha and the others were released after the Daitapati community rallied behind Suddha and threatened the District Magistrate that if Suddha wasn't released at once, they would all go on strike and their would be no Rathayatra in Puri this year!
