The Warrior Prince

BY NRSIMHANANDA DASA

USA, Apr 28 (VNN) — Dear Prabhus,

Status of animated Ramayana, "The Warrior Prince"

We have received many inquiries regarding the availability of the "Animated Ramayana," or, correctly titled, "The Warrior Prince" movie/video. As reported last year on CHAKRA, the producer, Yugo Sako, explicitly demanded that no pirated copies be circulated anywhere, and, specifically, in the ISKCON organization. He is a friend of ISKCON in Japan, and the devotees there are anxious that his rights be respected. An announcement was made to the society through this and other web pages. I have recently inquired as to the status of the availability of the movie.

Krishna Shah is a producer who resides in Los Angeles, and he has been involved in the revisions of the movie for a few years. He reported to me that the movie is not in general release yet although I understand it can be bought in India. However, now they are transforming it into a musical, and it should be complete in a couple of months. At that time, he will entertain distribution deals. I will stay in touch with him. I know that Vaisnava families are anxious to have this movie in their home for the benefit of their children. I hope to be instrumental in helping to make this happen in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, I recommend reading the most wonderful English rendition of the "Ramayana" ever published - Krishna Dharma's retelling which can be obtained from Torchlight publishing http://www.ramayana.com. There is nothing better than sharing Vaisnava stories by reading to your children; it beats watching videos by yojanas.

But if you also want transcendental videos, ITV has released two new subtitled movies: 1) Ramanujacarya, and 2) Three and a Half Diamonds; in addition to our library of devotional films which can be accessed at www.itvproductions.net.

Also, the pirating of Bhaktivedanta Archives/BBT materials, ITV, and others continues by Brahmananda and Gargamuni. We have collected irrefutable proof of their distribution right out of the MVT properties where they stay when they are in Vrndaban. The MVT management is currently working on a policy to evict anyone doing illegal activities while using the MVT as a residence. Brahmananda has boasted that the publicity generated by our complaints has increased his sales. He also reportedly lowered his prices and encourages others to copy the goods themselves. We request any and all Vaisnavas to not purchase from him and Gargamuni or from anywhere they have placed these goods for sale. In Vrndabana, Isvara prabhu is a bonafide distributor for ITV. Please contact him to purchase VCD's. Thank you for your cooperation.

YS, Nrsimhananda dasa
