GBC Execs Rescind Danudhara's Corrective Measures
BY DRAVINAKSA DAS
USA, May 12 (VNN) In a stunning move that drew sharp criticism ISKCON managers the GBC Executive Committee, headed by Rabindra Swarup Das Adikari, removed the ban on Danudhara Swami performing initiations in the USA, thus permitting the swami to initiate a number of disciples last weekend in New York state. His prospective disciples are also supposed to sign a statement that they read the Child Protection Office's (C.P.O.) report before they take initiation. Less than half actually followed this rule. Danudhara has flagrantly disobeyed other rules regarding his giving class in the USA.
When asked by the GBC chairman to support the rescension, CPO head Dhira Govinda Das declined, stating that he approved of the original CPO ruling.
Danudhara Swami's actions as head master of the Vrndavana gurukula resulted in him receiving serious sanctions from ISKCON for criminal neglect and child abuse. "The sanctions are also for his own protection." stated Phani Bhusasa, who travels with Gurukulis on the Festival of India,"He was attacked by a former student. Even the most gentle and mild mannered students become angry with him."
