Dear Kalakantha Prabhu... Pamho. Agtsp.

I am attaching a file for you to present to the GBC Exec for their consideration. This is a transcript of a recent interview that I had with Jack Mitchell, the audio forensic engineer that I believe is refered to in Balavanta's report. Balavanta has a copy of this interview. I told him that I may send this interview to you also, so here it is. I am sending copies to other devotees also in the hope that somebody will get this before the GBC meetings.

“All other audio forensic engineers only had 4th generation copies of audio tapes from which they worked..”

You will note in that interview, amongst other important points, the following.

1. Until Jack received a 1st generation copy of the tape he was having a very difficult time doing the enhancement and speech decoding work, because the sound was very degraded. Only when he received a copy of the original tape from Isa and Mahabuddhi Prabhus was he able to do his work and produce his reports.

2. All other audio forensic engineers only had 4th generation copies of audio tapes from which they worked..thus they worked with very degraded quality. I know because I was the one who sent these tapes to these engineers upon Balavanta Prabhu's direction.

So that makes it impossible for them to produce the same results as Jack Mitchell.

3. Further, since that time, Jack Mitchell has received a DAT tape from the Archives which he told me is even a better quality than the one that he worked with. He has not worked with this DAT tape yet because he stands firm behind his conclusions as reported, and the DAT tape analysis will further solidify his conclusion, not change them.

4.Originally, Balavanta had wanted two or three audio forensic engineers to collaborate on this work. Because of lack of funds and the tedious nature of the work, this was not done so far but can still be done. Most importantly, if all engineers work with the DAT tapes, rather than very degraded 3rd or 4th generation audio tapes there will be much better results.

Next, I know that there is confusion about one part of the statements that Srila Prabhupada makes about the issue on Nov 8, 1977.

In the conversation book vol 36 on page 359, some who have not studied this matter carefully have reported that here Srila Prabhupada says "not that I am poisoned", line 9.

However, if the full text is studied it is as follows.

TKG> Srila Prabhupada? you said before that you ...,that it is said that you were poisoned? ( NOTE: HereTKG is asking for further clarification of the matter that Srila Prabhupada himself raised earlier.)

Prabhupada> No. These kinds of symptons are seen when a man is poisoned. He said like that, not that I am poisoned.

(NOTE: Here Srila Prabhupada is explaining what somebody else said, "he"......that "he" said that Srila Prabhupada had the symptoms of a man when he is poisoned...."he" did not directly say that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned.
So, the bottomline is that "he" told Srila Prabhupada that he had the symptoms of a man who is poisoned.)

Again, later on in the day is the final discussion on the matter, when Srila Prabhupada reveals that (p 367) that he was mentally distressed.....etc. Here is the text.

Devotee. Someone gave him poison here.

Kaviraj...(hindi)
TKG> Prabhupada was thinking that someone had poisoned him. (NOTE. Now, during this later discussion, this is about Srila Prabhupada's own thoughts on this matter, not somebody else)

Adri> Yes(NOTE: Adri, or whoever this devotee is confirms that was mentally distressed about this matter of somebody poisoning him.)

Then, the Kaviraj, who had been treating Srila Prabhupada, and is highly qualified and personally requested to be there by Srila Prabhupada, and trusted by His Divine Grace and the leading devotees there, makes several statements in Hindi, discussing murder by poison, mercury as a poison(not makharadvaja), that it is possible that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned, that there must be truth to it. Note some of the text..

TKG> P368...Srila Prabhupada, Sastriji says that there must be some truth to it if you say that. So WHO IS IT THAT HAS POISONED?

Srila Prabhupada chooses not to respond to this...and there is some other related discussion. Hope this helps in your deliberations. There is more that I can offer, perhaps later.
