Srila Narayana Maharaja To Visit Alachua

BY EKANTI DEVI DASI

USA, Jun 12 (VNN) — As part of his 1999 world tour Maharaja has visited so far Italy, Miami, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Sao Paulo - Rio Brazil, Houston, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Badger, Washington D.C. and will continue to Europe.

He will be in Alachua from June 16th to 20th. There will be daily programs and darsans at 7 am and 6:30 pm at the house of Jalakara prabhu and Amba dd. Programs will also be held at other devotee's houses.

All devotees are invited to meet this dear friend of Srila Prabhupada. Srila Narayana Maharaja was born in a Vaishnava family and met Srila Prabhupada in 1946. He later performed the Sannyasa ceremony for Srila Prabhupada and assisted Srila Prabhupada from India in many ways in his preaching efforts. He sent the first Mrdangas and Kartalas, the first Radha Govinda deities to New York, as well as several Gaura Nitai deities for Srila Prabhupada's temples.

Srila Prabhupada's lifelong relationship of love and affection with Srila Narayana Maharaja was demonstrated by his request to him to perform his Samadhi ceremony, as well as his final request to Srila Narayana Maharaja to help his disciples in their devotional life after his departure.

This is why Maharaja has taken it upon himself at the high age of 79 to travel and visit devotees worldwide. He has not come to create any disturbance but simply wants to give sadhu sanga and inspiration to the devotees to continue their respective services in ISKCON or elsewhere.

Srila Prabhupada has created a house in which the whole world can live in. Don't miss the wonderful lectures and association of this famous Vaishnava saint.
