Protecting Detroit Temple's Good Name

BY BHUSAYA DASA

USA, Mar 31 (VNN) — Dear Readers, please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Recently VNN published a report by Pratyatosha das alleging past child abuse many years ago at Srila Prabhupada's Temple in Detroit. He stated the abuse happened to the two children of the woman he is presently living with. At the time of the allegations an investigation took place by members of the devotee community. One allegation was the young girl's breast was touched by an Indian brahmacari during a game of tag in Sri Nathji Hall.

The other allegation is this girl's younger brother was hit by this same brahmacari. The brother and sister were often here playing during the day because their parents would leave them for hours at a time, although the Temple repeatedly told them we are not a babysitting service. The outcome of the investigations was there was no basis for any charge against the Detroit Hare Krishna Temple.

Pratyatosha's other complaint against the Detroit Temple is we don't have enough prasadam for the four of them at noon. We can't understand why he feels that way. We see him in the prasadam room everyday for lunch, and he comes at 9pm with carry-out containers almost every night. We do pray that he comes to his senses, and realizes the great damage his actions could inflict on Srila Prabhupada's lifelong dream, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. We all know how Srila Prabhupada loved the society he created. Let us not destroy it.

your servant,
Bhusaya dasa
