BY MALATI DEVI DASI

USA, May 5 (VNN) — Sunday morning, May 4th, the West Virginia State Police contacted the New Vrindavan authorities with the news that they had discovered the body of Dhruva Patel, age 27 years. His mother, Manasa Ganga (Mira Patel) had reported him missing several days earlier when he failed to return from a walk in nearby woodlands. The State Troopers verdict is that death was due to a self inflicted gun shot wound. A a brief note has beeb recovered that did not state any specific cause although some of his close friends feel that he may have been experiencing depression. He was wearing a Narashima dev Pendant at the time of departure.

Dhruva was the eldest son of Manasa Ganga and Hari Kirtana, long time residents of New Vrindavan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two brothers,Shyam, age 19, Dev Kumar age 23, and his sister Mondakini, age 21 years. Having grown up in New Vrindavan, since 1985 when the family relocated from Africa, he was known and loved by all the residents there. He was a very gentle soul, always respectful to Vaisnavas, and was reading Srimad Bhagavatam and Lilamrita prior to his disappearance. He was very much influenced by Srila Prabhupada's teaching and had studied his books thoroughly.

Kuladri dasa, New Vrindavan's General Manager said, "On behalf of all the residents of New Vrindavan, I want to extend our deepest heart-felt condolences to all of Dhruva's family members. The community plans to hold a memorial service for Dhruva at an appropriate time and will bear the expenses for the funeral."

Along with his parents, Druva's aunt, Hladini dasi, from the UK is already present and his other Maternal Grandmother and Aunt Laxmi from the UK are also arriving. Dozens of community members have come to the family's home to perform kirtan and lend other forms of support to the family. Radhanath Swami is expected to return to the community this evening and offer his supportive presence.

There will likely be a Funeral arrangement at a local Funeral home on Tuesday, May 6th, followed by a Memorial Service next week.

Dear Vaishnaves, please offer your prayers to Lord Narashimadev for the speedy recovery of Druva's soul and request Him to bring peace into the hearts of his family.
