USA March 21, 2000 VNN5726 Comment on this story Beautiful Bhajans At Bondi Beach BY CHITTAHARI USA, Mar 21 (VNN) — Sunday 26th March 2000 - Starts at 2pm till about 4pm (note: daylight savings change) Where: South end on the grass opposite Hall St. Bondi is particually balmy in the fall and perfect for outdoor daytime bhajans.Not too hot and not to cool. For about nine months now Dwaipayana and myself have perfomed this sankirtan yajna.For the first four months it was just the two of us croaking away in the Domain but since we moved to Bondi and started visiting other bhajans in Sydney,participation has soared and what was at first a difficult austerity has become a very pleasant experience. Many devotees have forgotten that for a vaisnava "yajna" is essential even for the necessities of life.The yajna or sacrafice now, is just to give a little time to Lord Chaitanya.The performance is not painful - it is joyful and bestows all benefits on the participants.I can tell you quite frankly that since beginning this monthly yajna the quality of both my life and Dwaip's has improved immeasurably. We have also made many new friends.(something I haven't done for many years). These outdoor bhajans will become a big monthly event not just in Sydney but all over the world. Bhaktivinode Thakur has seen and predicted it.We just have to go out and enjoy it. Lord Chaitanya will arrange amazing surprises. P.S. More mridanga or tabla players required.
