Gaudiya Vedanta Publications Online

United Kingdom (VNN) - Gaudiya Vedanta Publications is happy to announce that all of Srila Narayana Maharaja's books are now available on-line at its official web site, The Hare Krishna Tradition. Also available are many books by other Vaishnava acaryas such as Shrila Rupa Gosvami, Shrila Vishvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, and Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. All books are in PDF format and can be both viewed and printed out on any computer system with Acrobat Reader 3.0. This revolutionary software programme is available free to download from Adobe's web site or from compact discs which accompany most computer magazines these days. The books can be found in the Books section of the web site as well as in the Lectures section. Look out for many more titles to be made available in the near future.

Three more of Shrila Narayana Maharaja's recent publications are available on-line in HTML format from our sister site, The Black Peacock. They are Nectar Sprinkles on Australia, Their Lasting Relation, and The Pinnacle of Devotion. All three of these books were compiled from material which Shrila Maharaja spoke in English.

The English translation of Vraja-vilasa-stava together with several other compositions from Shrila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami's Sti Stavavali is now complete. These compositions originally appeared in Shrila Narayana Maharaja's Hindi magazine, Sri Bhagavat Patrika, in the late 1960s.

Also newly available is a collection of Hindi bhajanas which is comprised of many of the songs which are sung regularly at Shrila Narayana Maharaja's temple by the local residents of the holy land of Vrndavana. This book will be useful to anyone travelling to Srila Maharaja's temple in Mathura.

Second editions of four of Shrila Narayana Maharaja's books have just been printed in Bath, England. They are The Nectar of Govinda-lila, Going Beyond Vaikuntha, Bhakti-rasayana and Shri Siksastaka. All four books represent substantial improvements on their first editions. The editing and layout have been improved and all books benefit from being printed to Western standards.

At present Shrila Narayana Maharaja is engaging his disciples in the production of several new, important Vaishnava literatures. The translation of Shrila Narayana Maharaja's Hindi edition of Shrila Rupa Gosvami's Shri Upadeshamrta is now complete and will be published before the end of this year. It includes the commentaries of Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada.

The English translation of Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura's Jaiva-dharma is also well underway. It will be published gradually in three volumes. The first volume is scheduled to be printed early next year. Containing a complete glossary and index, it will be the first fully authoritative English edition of this great composition and will be published in first-class style.

Shrila Narayana Maharaja's Hindi edition of Bhagavad-gita is also being translated. It includes his own commentary as well as the commentary of Shrila Vishvanatha Cakravarti Thakura. It is a very large project and will not be completed for at least another year.

This section will be updated every month or so with the latest news from Gaudiya Vedanta Publications, Shrila Narayana Maharaja's publication house.
