WORLD December 16, 1999 VNN5089 Related VNN Stories Manila Earthquake And Srila Narayan Maharaj BY TULSI KRISHNA DAS CEBU, PHILIPPINES, Dec 16 (VNN) — Dearest Prabhus and Didis, "Last 1965, we have a much lower earthquake intensity, yet we experience so much deaths and destructions. But since Gurudev is in our country, it is as if we felt like a baby being carried by mother earth's arms and being put to sleep. Wherever Gurudev is, everthing becomes so auspicious." Yes, we felt the eartquake. Everybody went and gathered at Gurudev's room who at that time was still awake and chanting his japa. It was still dark. Then after a brief Hari Katha, everybody went back to sleep again. "Then in Cebu, while we were preparing the beach house where Srila Narayan Maharaj will stay for one month, it rained so hard as if to clean the whole atmosphere from pollution." And this morning while waiting for the arrival of Srila Gurudev, it became very sunny! But I think the sun was becoming little bit too hot then that I became worried that the air-conditioning of my vehicle may not be sufficient during the travel . But when I arrived at the air-port, there I found the only available parking space, and you know what? It is under a huge banyan tree with a very good shade. "At the reception area where we received Srila Gurudev, even the employees of the hotel came forward to offer flowers and in return, they received sweetballs." Being able to do abhishek and wash the lotus feet of Srila Gurudev is a very rare opportunity and I felt so bless to perform it. Then before performing the arati, I made sure that the canaramrita was put in safe keeping. I have to do it because last February, when Srila Gurudev came, somebody hid the foot water in his room, yet I was able to find it only after so much inquiry. I suspect it was Lalit Mohan Prabhu who hid it. But he gave it back to me after having a big dose of Srila Gurudev caranamrta. Then all the devotees got their share too. This time, when I got home and I played back the video camera, I saw while I was performing arati to Srila Gurudev, Naveen Krishna Prahbu was taking a good dose of Srila Gurudev's Charanamrita at the back! Yes, everybody got their share again afterwards. One devotee was surprised that while doing his dandavats to Srila Gurudev, the pair of socks of His Divine Grace dropped ontop of his head. "I think Sri Sri Radha-Govindajii touched the heart of the owners of the Hotel that they did not charge me for the use of the function room. The one in-charge told me that she already received so many dignitaries in their Hotel but Srila Narayan Maharaj is so different that she can really feel the holiness of Srila Gurudev. To my surprise, the officer-in-charge turned out to be the daugther of one my Nam Hatt member ten years ago .She told me that her mother already passed away. They are very favorable to Krishna Consciousness. Srila Narayan Maharaj was so happy and blessed her."
