WORLD  Comment on this story Children Of Krishna BY NRSIMHANANDA DASA USA, Jun 15 (VNN) — Dear Prabhus, Regarding Janavi's declaration (see VNN Story 6772) that the video, "Children of Krishna 2001" is ISKCON's response to the Turley lawsuit... her statement is not correct. The video was produced by ITV specifically for the Dallas congregation. The temple there wanted to balance the skewed ABC 20/20 presentation on the issue. The temple president contacted ITV to request help with the production of a video that could present the other side of the story. The vast majority of persons who attend and attended gurukula there have fond memories of their experience. They were not represented in the ABC hatchet-job production. The ITV program was shot mainly in Dallas. There was never any GBC men involved in the production whatsoever. ITV had complete and final editing decisions . I don't think more than one or two GBC's have even seen it, and I doubt many even know about it. I did send a review copy to the TP in Dallas for his input. There were hardly any changes other than some spelling and titles. The video is hardly an official ISKCON response to the Turley lawsuit. You would have to look to Anuttama dasa, director of NA Public Relations, for an "official" reaction. ITV is an independent organization. "Children of Krishna" is the title of an Australian 60 Minutes segment produced more than a decade ago. Assigning the title "Children of Krishna 2001" is in reference to that show and has nothing to do with Janavi dd's organization of the same name used by those Australian television producers years earlier.
