Bhagavan Alleged to Take Side in BBT/BBTI Lawsuit
USA (VNN) - from COM, by Akruranath dasa
Bhima Prabhu asks what we think of Bhagavan's letter regarding
the BBTI v. Hansadutta case.
You should all know that Hansadutta's lawyer, Gupta, is acting
as Bhagavan's lawyer. Bhagavan signed a "supplemental cross-complaint"
which Gupta now seeks to file in court.
This supplemental cross complaint alleges that Hansadutta, Diane
Marie Chan (wife of the *other* Bhima dasa, Hansadutta's disciple
from Malaysia), and Veda Guhya appointed Bhagavan as a trustee
of their supposed "BBT" (i.e., the one with those four trustees)
on Monday, May 18, 1998.
The cross-complaint further prays that ISKCON of California and
BBT International pay to *their* trust all the monies received
since 1988.
By joining Hansadutta's alleged trust and accepting Gupta as his
lawyer and joining their side, Bhagavan has completely and irrevocably
demonstrated his inability to act as a neutral "mediator". If
he pretends not to understand this, he is lying, because he is
not that stupid.
In my opinion, his claims to have been interested in mediating
the dispute peacefully as a neutral disciple of Srila Prabhupada
was a ploy to try to get information or evidence from BBT International
and ISKCON of California, and that he has been a co-conspirator
of Hansadutta and Gupta for quite some time.
The GBC resolutions this year clearly demonstrate the GBC's opinion
that BBT International should be the owner of the copyrights.
If Srila Prabhupada's money is being wasted in litigation, the
reason is that Hansadutta et al. have hatched this diabolical
scheme to take over the BBT copyrights and money, and to take
the BBT outside of ISKCON.
Srila Prabhupada wanted the BBT to be independent from ISKCON
legally so that creditors of ISKCON could not take over the copyrights
and prevent the books from being published. However, he wanted
the BBT to operate for the benefit of ISKCON, to provide books
for the ISKCON temples to distribute and to provide funding for
ISKCON projects like Mayapur.
Now, Hansadutta and Bhagavan are trying to take over the copyrights
to use the funds for their own purposes (Hansadutta has been unable
to cooperate within ISKCON for nearly 20 years). In my opinion,
Hansadutta and Bhagavan make Robin George look like a "friend
of Krishna".
