Gour Govinda Swami:<\/strong>\u00a0His instructions are there,\u00a0vapu r\u016bpa<\/em>,\u00a0v\u0101\u1e47\u012b r\u016bpa<\/em>.\u00a0Guru<\/em>\u00a0means pure devotee, Vai\u1e63\u1e47ava.\u00a0Guru<\/em>\u00a0means very, very intimate associate of Lord Krishna. He is\u00a0guru<\/em>, spiritual master. When he is physically present, that is his presence is here, but in\u00a0aprakata l\u012bl\u0101<\/em>\u00a0when he disappears, at that time one should not think that\u00a0guru<\/em>\u00a0is not there. He is always there. Krishna is always there. If you have eye you can see Krishna,<\/p>\n

If you have that\u00a0bhakti-cak\u1e63u<\/em>, eye of devotion, and you have developed\u00a0k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-prema<\/em>, then you can see Krishna everywhere,y\u0101\u1e45h\u0101 y\u0101\u1e45h\u0101 netra pade t\u0101\u1e45h\u0101 k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a sphure.<\/em>\u00a0 You look and see Krishna. How could Prahlad Maharaja see Krishna in a stone pillar whereas his father couldn\u2019t?<\/p>\n

Krishna says. \u201cHe always sees Me. I always see him. Spiritual master is always there. Don\u2019t think that he is not physically present, that he is not there. He is there. He is always there. If you have developed love for the spiritual master, if you have developed that eye, you can see him, you can talk to him and he is also present in this form (banging the book),\u00a0v\u0101\u1e47\u012b\u2013r\u016bpa<\/em>, his instructions are there. Don\u2019t think so, when he is away.<\/p>\n

Krishna Speaks Through\u00a0\u015a\u0101stra<\/h2>\n

Another thing is there: Krishna is always there, Krishna is always speaking, Krishna is always teaching. But how is\u00a0He there, how is He\u00a0speaking, and how is He\u00a0teaching? One may put this question forward.<\/p>\n

How does Krishna speak? \u2018\u015a\u0101stra-guru-\u0101tma<\/em>\u2019, He speaks through\u00a0\u015b\u0101stra<\/em>, Veda, Vedic scripture, because the Vedas come from Krishna. He is the source of Veda. What He says in Veda is very difficult to understand. Especially it should be understood through\u00a0tattva\u2013vic\u0101ra<\/em>, not\u00a0apar\u0101-vic\u0101ra<\/em>, apparent consideration. It is absolute consideration. M\u0101y\u0101v\u0101d\u012bs do apparent consideration, quoting\u00a0\u015b\u0101stra<\/em>\u00a0as Vedic truth.<\/p>\n

Param\u0101tm\u0101 Assumes the Body of\u00a0Guru<\/h2>\n

Then comes the question of\u00a0guru<\/em>.\u00a0Guru<\/em>\u00a0comes, the spiritual master comes who is the representative of Krishna, very dear devotee of Krishna, who is as\u00a0caitya-guru<\/em>, who is seated in the heart of his body as Supersoul. He is known as\u00a0caitya-guru<\/em>. He comes.<\/p>\n

You cannot know that\u00a0param\u0101tm\u0101-tattva<\/em>,\u00a0\u012b\u015ba-tattva<\/em>, through your own mundane scholarship, own mundane intelligence,\u00a0medhay\u0101<\/em>, or listening to manypravacanas<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a0karmis<\/em>,\u00a0j\u00f1\u0101n\u012bs<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0yogis<\/em>. Those who never come under a bona fide disciplic succession are not devotees. You cannot know it.\u00a0Katha Upani\u1e63ad<\/em>says,\u00a0n\u0101yam \u0101tm\u0101 pravacanena labhyo na medhay\u0101 na bahudh\u0101 \u015brutena<\/em>. Then how can you know? Yam evai\u1e63a v\u1e5b\u1e47ute tena labhyas tasyai\u1e63a \u0101tm\u0101 viv\u1e5b\u1e47ute tanu\u1e41 sv\u0101m, \u00a0\u0101tm\u0101\u00a0<\/em>here means\u00a0Param\u0101tm\u0101, Supersoul, who is seated in everyone\u2019s heart. Assuming a body He comes as spiritual master, Himself, because He iscaitya-guru<\/em>, to teach\u00a0param\u0101tm\u0101-tattva<\/em>. Unless He says you cannot understand. Where does he appear? Who meets him? That\u2019s another question.<\/p>\n

\u0100tm\u0101<\/em>\u00a0here means Param\u0101tm\u0101, Supersoul. So Krishna teaches like that. The soul or individual person who is very, very inquisitive to know all these things, who is very eager to know, Param\u0101tm\u0101 knows this, \u201cOh, now he is very eager to know Me so I must help him.\u201d So he comes assuming the body of\u00a0guru<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He is most fortunate,\u00a0bh\u0101gyav\u0101n<\/em>. By wandering through so many planetary systems, undergoing so many species of life, one who is fortunate enough meets a bona fide spiritual master. It is Krishna\u2019s mercy,\u00a0k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a k\u1e5bp\u0101te guru mile guru k\u1e5bp\u0101te k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a mile<\/em>\u00a0it is by Krishna\u2019s mercy that you will get the bona fide spiritual master and by the mercy of the spiritual master you will get Krishna. So Param\u0101tm\u0101 arranges the meeting.<\/p>\n

So this is Krishna\u2019s mercy that you will meet the spiritual master, and by getting the mercy of the spiritual master you will get Krishna. So we must be very eager to know, and we must be very inquisitive like Dhruva Mah\u0101r\u0101ja was. He was very eager how to get the Lord. So N\u0101rada Muni appeared before him. Param\u0101tm\u0101 arranged it, \u201cAll right, he is very eager now. You go and show him the path, help him.\u201d<\/p>\n

S\u0101dhu Krpa &\u00a0\u015a\u0101stra Krpa<\/h2>\n

Similarly, \u201cOh my spiritual master has disappeared. How can I be helped? Who will teach me? When you\u2019ll be very, very inquisitive, how can I know? His\u00a0v\u0101\u1e47\u012b<\/em>\u00a0is there, instructions are there, books are there, but I cannot understand the purport. It is very difficult on my part to understand it, though\u00a0v\u0101\u1e47\u012b<\/em>\u00a0is there.\u00a0\u015a\u0101stra<\/em>\u00a0has its\u00a0krpa<\/em>,<\/p>\n

Kavir\u0101j Goswami has said this.\u00a0S\u0101dhu krpa<\/em>,\u00a0\u015b\u0101stra krpa<\/em>,\u00a0krpa<\/em>\u00a0means mercy. The\u00a0\u015b\u0101stra<\/em>\u00a0is also one of the incarnations of the Lord.\u00a0K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-tulya bh\u0101gavata\u2014vibhu, sarv\u0101\u015braya<\/em>,\u00a0Caitanya-bh\u0101gavata<\/em>\u00a0states this.\u00a0Bh\u0101gavata-grantha<\/em>, the scripture is like Krishna. He is\u00a0vibhu<\/em>. Krishna is\u00a0vibhu<\/em>, Supreme Lord. Bh\u0101gavata is also\u00a0vibhu<\/em>. We take shelter of the lotus feet of Krishna. We must take shelter of\u00a0bh\u0101gavata<\/em>, and\u00a0grantha<\/em>\u00a0also. Krishna showers His mercy,\u00a0grantha<\/em>\u00a0also showers his mercy.\u00a0S\u0101dhu<\/em>\u00a0showers his mercy. So\u00a0s\u0101dhu-\u015b\u0101stra-k\u1e5bp\u0101, s\u0101dhu\u2019s krpa, \u015b\u0101stra\u2019s krpa<\/em>. Then we\u2019ll be attracted towards Krishna,\u00a0s\u0101dhu \u015b\u0101stra k\u1e5bp\u0101ya jadi k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47onmukha haya, sei j\u012bva nistare m\u0101y\u0101 t\u0101h\u0101re ch\u0101daya<\/em>\u00a0then you are free from the clutches of\u00a0m\u0101y\u0101<\/em>. So\u00a0grantha<\/em>\u00a0has its\u00a0krpa<\/em>, scripture has its\u00a0krpa<\/em>. This is one of the forms of the lord. And the instructions of\u00a0guru<\/em>\u00a0is also\u00a0guru<\/em>. You\u2019ll get\u00a0guru<\/em>\u00a0krpa<\/em>\u00a0through his instructions,\u00a0v\u0101\u1e47\u012b<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It Is All Optimism<\/h2>\n

One who is very, very eager, and very, very inquisitive, prays to the spiritual master, and prays to Krishna, \u201cO my spiritual master, you have departed. You are not physically present. I cannot understand it. I am such an ignorant fool. I have no qualification. Though your instructions are there I cannot understand what you have said. Please help me.\u201d<\/p>\n

So\u00a0guru<\/em>\u00a0he\u2019ll also come. Not in that form. He should come in the form of as\u0101dhu<\/em>, a very dear devotee, who is also very dear to your spiritual master. He is very intimate with your spiritual master. He may come in that form. Through him this will be revealed. Doubts will be cleared. You can understand the\u00a0tattva<\/em>, purport. And one should think, Yes, yes, my\u00a0guru<\/em>\u00a0is teaching, he is saying in this form,\u00a0sadhu<\/em>\u00a0thereby you will be helped. Don\u2019t think that, \u201cguru<\/em>\u00a0is not there. He has departed. What shall I do?\u201d Pray fervently to your spiritual master. He must help you. In this way we have been helped. This is my personal experience. And this is also the opinion of other great\u00a0mah\u0101janas<\/em>,\u00a0\u0101c\u0101ryas<\/em>, they have also said this. This is the eternal process. Krishna is eternal,\u00a0nitya \u015b\u0101strat\u0101, san\u0101tana puru\u1e63a<\/em>, His teachings are eternal. The process is also eternal. It is always going on. But we should be very, very inquisitive. Inquisitiveness must be there, that we must get. Everything is there. One should not feel desperate. There is no pessimism in this process.
