Once Gurudeva, Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhav Goswami Maharaj went to Punjab. He was there to attend a religious ceremony in Jalandhar. Lots of devotees have gathered. Srila Gurumaharaj was staying at a house of a doctor. Many visitors used to come to meet Srila Gurumaharaj One day when we were about to leave for the function venue, 3-4 people arrived at the door of the house.\u00a0They approached Srila Gurumaharaj and\u00a0said that they have to meet\u00a0Him in person, and they cannot wait as they have to leave the city same night. Srila Gurumaharaj told them to come later as\u00a0He was\u00a0getting late for the program. They were known to our host,\u00a0so host requested Srila Gurumahraj to listen to them for few minutes. Srila Gurumaharaj agreed.<\/p>\n
Mr. Pandey (an Income tax official) was amongst those and said, ‘ Swami ji, I read about yourself and I have come to question yourself on spiritual topics.\u00a0I do not believe in\u00a0atma-parmatma. Which I cannot see, I cannot touch, I do not believe that. I have come to you to get replies of all of my 20 questions. Srila Gurumaharaj said\u00a0politely that we are getting late, better come tomorrow, as time will be sufficient.<\/p>\n
He said, ‘ Swami ji, my mind is starved. There is no peace. I have come with great expectations. Please give me Mantra so that I can get peace of mind. Please give me some teachings so that I can get peace of mind. My mind is disturbed and worried.’<\/p>\n
Srila Gurumaharaj smiled and said, ‘You are deceiving me.’<\/p>\n
Mr. Pandey replied, ‘ No. I am telling you truth. I have got in my mind immense worries and anxieties. My mind is disturbed.’<\/p>\n
Srila Gurumahaj said, ‘ Pandey ji, you are\u00a0deceiving me.’<\/p>\n
Mr. Pandey replied, ‘Why? Why are you saying these words\u00a0again and again.’<\/p>\n
Srila Gurmaharaj continued, ‘ This is because have you\u00a0seen the mind? Have you touched the mind? You said that if I do not see or touch the thing I do not believe in the existence of that.<\/p>\n
Have you seen mind? What is its color? Black or Whilte? Have you touched the mind? Is it soft or heart? You have not seen. There is no mind. So there cannot be dirturbance of mind?’<\/p>\n
Mr. Pandey kept quite and then said, ‘ No. Swami ji, I have\u00a0not seen or touch.I have mental thinkig. By that I feel I have mind.’<\/p>\n
Srila Gurumaharaj said, ‘ You are an educated person. What value does these eyes and\u00a0ears have? If by a small stick,\u00a0I\u00a0pierce the eyes then whole visionary world will be destroyed in a moment. You are seeing this world on the basis of these sense orgains, i.e. material eyes. You think whatever you are seeing is real? If eardrums are pierced then whole aural world \/ sound will go? You are speaking like this? What value has these got? These all are non eternal sense organs? As you cannot touch or see mind, but you are thinking that there is mind, similarly you can feel the\u00a0for existence of soul also.<\/p>\n
This is because you have desire to exist in this world eternally. A non eternal thing cannot have the desire to exist eternally. No body wants to die. You have got the desire to know, to gain knowledge. You have got the desire of bliss. A material being cannot have desire of Anand or knowledge. This is because you are sacchidanand. By the nature of mind, you are thinking of existence, by the nature of soul you are thinking like this, You are not feeling because you have not cultivated that culture. There are many wild human beings, living in forests but have no culture of modern civilization, though they will also have\u00a0intellect and mind. This is because there is no understanding in them for this, they do not feel any separation of modern world. In civilzed soceity there is understanding that there is mind and this what we like…similarly if you cultivate spiritual realization, by this or with the help of spiritual guide, then you will feel that there is seperate existence of spirit, as well.’<\/p>\n
‘Our scriptures state\u00a0how to bring that realization. You cannot realize atma-parmatma by hearing speeches. A good speaker cannot get the realization of atma. Intellectual giant cannot get realization of atma or parmatma.Learned cannot get realization of Parmatma. We have to submit to Him. Unconditonal surrender. We have to accept His grace.\u00a0Then He will make you realize His eternal form. He has spititual body all-knowledge\/ all existence \/ all bliss A challege cannot give anyone Supreme\u00a0Lord. His\u00a0own grace is required to realize Him.<\/p>\n
One who has one-pointed devotion to Supreme Lord and so much to Sadguru, Absolute counterpart of Lord, significance of scriptures will be revelaed in his heart.\u00a0By argument, we cannot understand anything .<\/p>\n
Sreemad Bhagwad Geeta, which is spoken by Supreme Lord.\u00a0His sound is transcendental as He is transcendental. Without His grace we cannot get the actual meaning of scripture.
