Published here are the songs sung in honor of Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><i>yabe rupa-sanatana vraje gela dui jana,\u00a0suna-ite raghunatha-dasa<br \/>\nnija-rajya-adhikara indra-sama sukha yara,\u00a0chhadiya chalila prabhu-pasa<\/i><\/p>\n<p>When Raghunatha Dasa heard that Rupa and Sanatana went to Vraja, he gave up the proprietorship of his estate and pleasures equal to those of Indra and came to the Lord\u2019s side.<\/p>\n<p><i>uthi\u2019 ratre nisa-bhage duyare prahari jage,\u00a0patha chhadi\u2019 vipathe gamana<br \/>\nksudha trsna nahi paya manodvege chali\u2019 yaya,\u00a0sada chinte chaitanya-charana<\/i><\/p>\n<p>He arose in the dark very early in the morning, avoided the main road, and traveled on an alternate path. He felt no hunger or thirst as he ran anxiously. He thought constantly of Sri Caitanya\u2019s feet.<\/p>\n<p><i>eka-dina eka grame sandhya-kale go-vathane,\u00a0\u201cha chaitanya\u201d baliya basila<br \/>\neka gopa dugdha dila taha kheye visramila,\u00a0sei ratre tathai rahila<\/i><\/p>\n<p>One day in a village in the evening he sat in a cowshed chanting, \u201cO Caitanya!\u201d and a cowherd boy gave him some milk. He drank it, rested, and remained there for the night.<\/p>\n<p><i>ye anga palanka vine bhumi-sayya nahi jane,\u00a0kantake hataye sei paya<\/i><\/p>\n<p>His body had never experienced lying on the ground without a bedstead, but his feet now walked over thorns.<\/p>\n<p><i>yiho bela danda chari tola jale snana kari\u2019,\u00a0sad-rasa karita bhojana<br \/>\nebe yadi kichhu pana sandhya-kale taha khana,\u00a0na paile amani sayana<\/i><\/p>\n<p>He used to bathe with raised water at mid-morning and eat meals comprised of the six tastes, but now he would eat in the evening if he found something and would lie down without eating anything if he did not.<\/p>\n<p><i>bara dinera patha yana tina sandhya anna khana,\u00a0pravesila nilachala-pure<br \/>\ndekhiya se sri-mandira du-nayane vahe nira,\u00a0\u201cha chaitanya\u201d bale uchchaihsvare<\/i><\/p>\n<p>After travelling the path for twelve days and eating solid food on only three of these days in the evening, he entered the city of Nilacala. Seeing the temple, tears poured from his eyes, and he called out, \u201cO Caitanya!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>e radha-vallabha-dasa mane kari abhilasa,\u00a0kotha mora raghunatha-dasa<br \/>\ntahara prasanga-matra pulakita haya gatra,\u00a0tara pada-renu kari asa<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This Radha Vallabha Dasa longs, \u201cWhere is my Raghunatha Dasa? Just by his association, the hair on my body stands on end. I pray for the dust of his feet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>sri-chaitanya-krpa haite raghunatha-dasa-chitte,\u00a0parama vairagya upajila<br \/>\nkalatra grha sampada nija-rajya-adhipada,\u00a0mala-praya sakala tyajila<\/i><\/p>\n<p>By the mercy of Sri Caitanya, extreme detachment arose in the mind of Raghunatha Dasa. Wife, home, wealth, proprietorship of his estate\u2014he left all of this as though it were stool.<\/p>\n<p><i>purascharya ksna-name giya se purusottame,\u00a0gaurangera pada-yuga seve<br \/>\nei mane abhilasa punah raghunatha dasa,\u00a0nayana-gochara habe kabe<\/i><\/p>\n<p>After completing his preparatory duties with the chanting of Krishna\u2019s name, he went to Sri Purusottama Ksetra and served the feet of Sri Gauranga. My heart longs, \u201cWhen will I see Raghunatha Dasa again?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>gauranga doyalu haiya radha-krsna mantra diya,\u00a0govardhana-sila gunja-hare<br \/>\nvraja-vane govardhane sri-radhara sri-charane,\u00a0samarpana karila yahare<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Sri Gauranga mercifully gave him the Radha-Krishna\u00a0<em>mantra<\/em>, a Govardhana-<em>sila<\/em>, and a\u00a0<em>gunja-mala<\/em>. He thus offered him to the divine feet of Sri Radha at Govardhana in Vrindavan.<\/p>\n<p><i>gaurangera agochare nija-kesa chhidhi kare,\u00a0virahe vyakula vraje gela<br \/>\ndeha-tyaga kari\u2019 mane gela giri-govardhane,\u00a0du-gosai tahare rakhila<\/i><\/p>\n<p>After the disappearance of Sri Gauranga, Raghunatha Dasa began to pull out his hair, and overcome with separation, he went to Vraja. Intending to give up his body, he went to Govardhana Hill, but two\u00a0<em>goswamis<\/em>\u00a0saved him.<\/p>\n<p><i>dhari rupa-sanatana rakhila tara jivana,\u00a0deha-tyaga karite na dila<br \/>\ndui gosaira ajna peye radha-kundera tate giya,\u00a0niyama kariya vasa kaila<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Rupa and Sanatana received him and saved his life. They did not allow him to give up his body. Receiving instructions from these two\u00a0<em>goswamis<\/em>, Raghunatha went to the bank of Radha Kunda and lived there observing various strictures.<\/p>\n<p><i>chhida vastra paridhana vraja-phala-gavya pana,\u00a0anna adi na kare ahara<br \/>\ntina sandhya snanachari smarana kirtana kari\u2019,\u00a0radha-pada bhajana yahara<\/i><\/p>\n<p>He wore torn clothes and ate only the fruits and milk products found in Vraja. He did not eat rice or other grains. He bathed at the three junctions of the day, engaged in remembrance and chanting, and served the feet of Sri Radha.<\/p>\n<p><i>sat danda ratri dine radha-krsna-lila-gane,\u00a0smaranete sadai goyaya<br \/>\nchari danda suye thake svapne radha-krsna dekhe,\u00a0tilardheka vyartha nahi yaya<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Night and day\u2014twenty-four hours a day\u2014he would sing about the pastimes of Radha and Krishna and constantly engage in remembrance of them. He laid down for an hour and half each day, but in his dreams saw Radha and Krishna and never wasted a single moment.<\/p>\n<p><i>chaitanyera padambuje rakhe manobhrnga-raje,\u00a0svarupera sadai asraya<br \/>\nbhinna-deha rupa-sane gati yara sanatane,\u00a0bhatta gosayera priya mahasaya<\/i><\/p>\n<p>He would fix the bumble bee of his mind on the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya. He remained always in the shelter of Svarupa Damodara. He was always with Sri Rupa, and Sanatana was his shelter. He was dear to Raghunatha Bhatta Goswami and Gopala Bhatta Goswami<\/p>\n<p><i>sri-rupera gana yata yahara pade asrita,\u00a0atyanta vatsalya yara jive<br \/>\nsei arta-nada kari\u2019 kadi\u2019 bale, \u201chari hari,\u00a0prabhura karuna habe kabe\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Sheltered at the feet of all the followers of Sri Rupa, who are most affectionate to all souls, he would piteously cry out, \u201cO Lord! O Lord! When will I receive my Lord\u2019s mercy?<\/p>\n<p><i>he radhikara vallabha gandharvikara bandhava,\u00a0radhika-ramana radhanatha<br \/>\nhe he vrndavanesvara ha ha krsna damodara,\u00a0krpa kari\u2019 kara atmasatha<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u201cO Beloved of Radhika! O Friend of Gandharvika! O Delight of Radhika! O Lord of Radha! O Lord of Vrindavan! O Krishna! O Damodara! Please mercifully accept me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>prabhu rupa sanatana tina haila adarsana, andha haila e dui nayana<br \/>\nvrtha akhi kaha dekhi vrtha dehe prana rakhi,\u00a0sevachara badaya dviguna<\/i><\/p>\n<p>When the Lord (Sri Caitanya), Sri Rupa, and Sri Sanatana had disappeared, his two eyes became blind. \u201cWhat can I see with these useless eyes? I just maintain my life in this useless body.\u201d This was his feeling, yet his engagement in service doubled.<\/p>\n<p><i>sri-krsna sri-sachi-suta tara guna yata yata,\u00a0avatara sr\u012b-vigraha nama<br \/>\ngupta vyakta lila-sthana drsta sruta vaisnava-gana,\u00a0sabhakare karaye pranama<\/i><\/p>\n<p>He would offer obeisance to Sri Krishna, the son of Sri Saci, all of his qualities and avatars, his deity, his name, the hidden and manifest places of his pastimes that are seen or heard about, and all the Vaisnavas.<\/p>\n<p><i>radha-krsnera viyoge chhadila sakala bhoge,\u00a0rukha sukha anna-matra sara<br \/>\nsri-caitanyera vichchhedete anna chhadi\u2019 sei haite,\u00a0phala gavya karena ahara<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In separation from Radha and Krishna, Raghunatha Dasa gave up all enjoyment and ate nothing but dry, stale rice. In separation from Sri Caitanya, he gave up rice and ate only fruits and milk products.<\/p>\n<p><i>sanatanera adarsane taha chhadi sei dine,\u00a0kevala karena jala pana<br \/>\nrupera vichchheda yabe jala chhadi\u2019 dila tabe,\u00a0radha-krsna bali\u2019 rakhe prana<\/i><\/p>\n<p>After the disappearance of Sri Sanatana, he gave this up, and from that day on drank only water. When he was separated from Sri Rupa, he then gave up water and maintained his life simply by calling out to Radha and Krishna.<\/p>\n<p><i>svarupera adarsane na dekhe rupera gane,\u00a0virahe vikala haiya kande<br \/>\nkrsna-kathalapa vine sravane nahika sune,\u00a0<em>uchchaihsvare dake arta-nade<\/em><\/i><\/p>\n<p>When Sri Rupa disappeared, and Raghunatha could not see any of Sri Rupa\u2019s followers, then he sorrowfully wept in separation. Without any discussion of Krishna, he did not listen to anything with his ears and piteously cried out aloud.<\/p>\n<p><i>ha ha radha-krsna kotha kotha achha he lalita,\u00a0he visakhe deha darasana<br \/>\nha chaitanya mahaprabhu ha svarapa mora prabhu,\u00a0ha ha prabhu rupa-sanatana<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u201cO Radha! O Krisha! Where are You? O Lalita, where are you? O Visakha! Please appear before me. O Caitanya Mahaprabhu! O Svarupa, my master! O my masters Rupa and Sanatana!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>kade gosai ratra-dine pudi\u2019 yaya tanu-mane,\u00a0virahe ha-ila jara jarai<br \/>\nmanda manda jihva nade preme asru netre pade,\u00a0mane krsna karaye smarana<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Dasa Goswami cried night and day. His mind and body burned in separation and became frail. As his tongue moved slowly and tears of love poured from his eyes, he remembered Krishna within his heart.<\/p>\n<p><i>sei raghunatha-dasa puribe manera asa,\u00a0ei mora bada achhe sadha<br \/>\ne radha-vallabha-dasa mane kare abhilasa,\u00a0sabe more karaha prasada<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRaghunatha Dasa will fulfill the desires of my heart.
