USA February 5, 1999 VNN2961 Tamal Krishna Goswami's Health Update BY YUDHISTHIRA DASA  DALLAS, TEXAS, Feb 5 (VNN) — Dear Maharajas and Prabhus, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. As most of you have heard, His Holiness Tamal Krishna Goswami was diagnosed about six weeks ago with cancer of the prostate. After long deliberation, he made the difficult decision to undergo a surgical procedure known as a radical prostatectomy.Today, one week after surgery, I am very pleased to report that the pathology report from surgery is negative. There is no sign that the cancer has spread to the surrounding lymph nodes, which were removed during surgery, nor is there any sign of cancerous activity in the tissue surrounding the prostate. This is obviously a tremendous relief to all disciples and well-wishers. On behalf of my spiritual master, I want to express profound appreciation for the countless prayers from the vaisnavas. Immediately upon hearing the positive results of the lab tests, Goswami Maharaja said that it is only due to these sincere prayers as well as the mercy of the Deities that he has been cured from this illness. On the practical side, everyone who has been calling and writing to Goswami Maharaja should please be patient for a response as this was, after all, major surgery and recovery is very gradual. He is getting stronger each day, but his activities are still extremely limited due to the pain and discomfort after surgery. I would like to also take this opportunity to sincerely thank His Holiness Rtadhvaja Maharaja who has generously come to Dallas to assist Goswami Maharaja through this ordeal. Our debt to him for his spontaneous affection and loving support cannot be expressed in words. Thank you all once again for your heartfelt prayers. They have been answered.
