USA, Jan 18 (VNN) — Dear Ragu, I would like to clear up a few points. You wrote (VNN # 2871) " I have the video tape of the event which I would be happy to give a transcription of wherein Krsna Avatar concludes with, "we will take maters into our own hands" and that they will "do something" - meaning law suite."

While it is true that I might have said the above statements, the circumstances were such where things were reaching a critical mass for ISKCON and child abuse. Second generation devotees actually wanted to sue, and go to the press. They felt that the GBC had betrayed them by promoting certain child abusers within the movement. For instance our ex principle, Danudhara (now a swami) was a guru in our paramparah. It was disgusting to see people bow down and take diksa from such a child abuser. They felt that in other religions he would have been ex-communicated and put in jail. And there are many cases such as his. The GBC has since suspended Danudhara as guru, but he still retains his honorable sannyasi designation pending the investigation by OCP. CKI was started as a result of this outcry. Anuttama has been instrumental in this process. In this way, ISKCON, as well as the second generation has begun the healing process. You know, sometimes it takes a while to recover from traumatic experiences. I just saw "Sleepers" the other day, and it brought back painful memories. They don't just go away. However, ISKCON has taken positive steps to rectify the past.

Ragu then says: "I have not gotten a straight answer on this as yet. How much $ did kci receive in the first year? How was in spent. I'm going on what I believe I heard from Manu - $50,000 received, $10, 000 in grants, $25,000 for Krishna Avatar, $15,000 on "misc" office expenses - travel, phone, equipment, printing etc. This is the common impression out here and if wrong - then an example of the need for a West Cost rep. Do you have a different break down on the numbers?"

As I have answered in my last correspondance, these numbers are inaccurate and grossly exaggerated. I wish I received $25,000 a year In fact, accurate records have been kept, and have been sent to our donors and the second generation in our newsletter. We sent out these newsletters to the west coast as well- I thought I cleared up these rumors 2 years ago (remember the one were I supposedly flew first class, when in fact I took a Greyhound bus to save laxmi). We are a professional organization, who plans to be around 200 years from now. If you are somehow not receiving the newsletters, contact Jahnavi, and she will put you on the mailing list.

Keep up the good work
Krsna Avatara dasa
