USA January 12, 1999 VNN2832 See Related VNN Stories LA Evening Session Not Sponsored By IRG BY IRG USA, Jan 12 (VNN) — A misleading advert has mysteriously appeared on VNN's front page regarding an alleged extension of the official IRG meeting to be held in Los Angeles on Jan 16th between 9.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. According to the advert the official IRG meeting 'moves upstairs at 6.00 p.m'. This is completely false. The meeting upstairs with Hamsadutta etc has absolutely nothing to do with the IRG. We are not sure how this confusion came about, and we are sure that Hamsadutta will be just as upset as we are since he preaches 'soft ritvik', i.e. that the ritvik is an apprentice diksa guru who, once qualified, takes his own disciples. This is in sharp contrast to 'The Final Order' in which the ritvik system remains in place for the duration of ISKCON (hard ritvik) with Srila Prabhupada as the sole initiator. Anyone can hold whatever gatherings they like, but we wish it to be known they are two entirely seperate meetings.
