| USA November 18, 1998 VNN2518 Gita Jayanti BY CARU DAS USA, Nov 18 (VNN) — (Day Lord Krishna spoke Bhagavad Gita) Nov 29th Gita Jayanti (the day Lord Krishna spoke Bhagavad Gita) will be celebrated at the Radha Krishna temple in Spanish Fork on Sunday Nov 29th. From 4 p.m. there will be a special fire ceremony (Maha Gita Yagna). Priests, along with members of the congregation, chant the 108 principal slokas (verses) of the Gita while making offerings of grains and ghee into the fire. The fire ceremony will be followed by bhajans (devotional songs), a special talk on the Gita, a beautiful arotik ceremony, and a multi course vegetarian feast for all participants.
