USA 09/22/1998 - 2264 Reform Group Meetings in Alachua

An enthusiastic, growing international group of devotees will conveneOct. 3 and 4 in Alachua, Florida, to discuss the "Representative of theAcharya" statements of Srila Prabhupada, along with their relevance to andimplementation within ISKCON. Delegates from Australia, Hong Kong, India,Canada, the UK and USA have confirmed attendance. Another aim of the meeting,in pursuance of the Bangalore/Bombay resolutions, will be to establish a NorthAmerican branch of the ISKCON Reform Group.
The program begins with Srila Prabhupada puja at 7 am, Saturday, Oct. 3,followed by Srimad-Bhagavatam class and breakfast. The schedule ofproceedings will be as follows:
Saturday 10 am at the meeting site: Introductory presentation of the reasons for and aims of the conference, thedirect statements of Srila Prabhupada in regards to "guru" and "rittvik"issues, and current relevant news. This will be followed by an opendiscussion amongst devotees.
Lunch 1 pm 3-6 pm: Continued group discussion including proposals from the "Final Order." 7 pm Dinner Party
Sunday 10 am: Meetings Reconvene Arriving at conclusions, resolutions and plans of action for the future.
4 pm: Sunday feast at the Temple
Organizers of the conference request those who wish to attend, tocontact them regarding your place, date and time of arrival in Florida, alongwith your plans to stay at devotees' houses or to rent a hotel room (locally,$40-50 per night). We need to know beforehand! Fees for attending both daysmeetings and prasadam will be $25, $10 for the meetings only.
Discussions will be focused on the above agenda, and while participation isencouraged, time is precious and does not allow speeches or behavior whichdivert the goals of the conference.
We wish to emphasize our desires for positivity, brotherhood, spiritualequality and unity within ISKCON and with Vaisnavas everywhere, as we try tofollow Srila Prabhupada's directives.
