"Wildthings" To Visit Sri Varaha Vana

The hit NBC prime-time TV series "Wildthings" is planning to do some shooting at Sri Varaha Vana Ashram (near Sri Kshetra Udupi) and Sri Narasimha-Caitanya Ashram (at Sri Kshetra Subrahmanya) this winter. Both ashrams are run by Hare Krishna devotees, disciples of Srila Prabhupada. The theme will be the age-old tradition of sadhus and wild animals living peacefully in cohabitation in Indian jungles.

"Wildthings" is a series that shows how dedicated environmentalists and animal lovers around the world relate to and study amazing wild animals in their natural habitats. The series is aired on Saturday nights at 7 PM ET. The footage of wild animals in this series and their commentary is excellent and teaches valuable lessons on respecting and protecting Mata Bhumi and her special creatures.

The producers of "Wildthings" were initially contacted by Narasimha das, president of Caitanya Mandir Society (CMS), and they were intrigued by his descriptions of the The Sahayadri, the sacred Sahya Mountains of South India, which has more bio-diversity than the rest of the planet combined. CMS has offered to work with environmentalists to help preserve this rare, pristine, and most sacred biosphere.
