Deepest Condolences

USA, Sep 21 (VNN) — Dearest Devotees,
It is with great sadness that we report that earlier today, September 20, 2003, H.G. Urmila Mataji's beloved father left his body. We offer our deepest condolences to Urmila Mataji and her family at this difficult time.
Mr. Bernard Manischewitz passed away quietly in his home in Northern New Jersey. Mr.. Manischewitz was very favorable towards Krishna consciousness and appreciative of his daughter's involvement with the worldwide Hare Krishna movement. In fact, he became an ISKCON Life Member directly under Srila Prabhupada. Mr. Manischewitz met personally with Srila Prabhupada on five occasions.
We request that all devotees pray for Mr. Manischewitz. Srila Prabhupada explained that the devotees' sincere prayers immediately following a death can have a profound impact on the departed soul's next destination, likening such prayers to the testimony given by witnesses in a court of law. We also request any devotees who have access to the VedaBase (Folio) to please find and post conversations between Mr. Manischewitz and Srila Prabhupada.
