Hare Krishna Behind Bars

GAINESVILLE, USA, May 5 (VNN) — Amelia Graham/WCJB TV-20 News
A religious group in shock after one of their own ends up behind bars. Forty-four year old Pedro Garcia is in the Alachua County Jail, after Gainesville Police arrested him for lewd and lascivious molestation. Two twelve-year old girls tell authorities Garcia touched them inappropriately during a religious service at the Hare Krishna Center near the University of Florida campus. Sargeat Keith Kameg says, "the two girls were very forthcoming." Garcia however denies any wrong-doing.
The director of the Hari Krishna Center, Savyasaci das says "It's very disturbing and tragic that any thing like this could happen, because we care very deeply about our children." Savyasaci das says Garcia was a volunteer at the center, often responsible for mowing the lawn. However, he tells G.P.D. officials he is a member of the organization. Garcia is being held with a fifty-thousand dollar bond, charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation.
