Last weekend many senior disciples and new disciples of Srila Prabhupada met in Los Angeles to formally come to agreement on a mission statement for our group called The Krishna Consciousness movement. This statement will be posted soon on our website. We have a web site by that name which has just been formed and which is presently undergoing construction. Below is a short report of that weekends activities. The full mission statement will be coming within a month's time and will be posted on Krishnaconsciousness.com We are a group of individuals dedicated to carrying out the orders of Srila Prabhupada, we hold regular festivals, have many temples and preaching centers and intend to expand these activities in the near future.

I was asked to give a short summary report of the ecstatic festival/organizational meeting we all just completed down in Los Angeles Ca. at Yasoda nandana's ashram. First of all, it was great seeing, after such a long time, so many older Prabhupada disciples who have been instrumental in working to correct the problems in our movement. Even though we all traveled great distances, the effort was worth it for the transcendental rewards received.Such devotees as HH Kapindra Swami,Yasoda nandan, Narasimha, Veda guhya, Naveen Krsna, Gauridas pandit das, Nityananda, Jaya Narayana, Nimai pandit,Vir Laxsmana, Sri Mukunda, Bhakta Peter, Bhakta Bharata, Madhavananda, Patrikananda,Bhakta Jim,Anubhavananda, Bhakta Bud,Gaura Karuna dasi, Nanda priya dasi,Visvamrta, Gupta, Niscintya,and many others were all present.
We met on Friday May 24th at around 7:00PM formally for the start of the program and to observe the disappearance day of Jayananda Prabhu as per Srila Prabhupadas request.Gauridas had brought his large and beautiful bejewelled Narasimhadev deity, I brought my Govardhana sila, and along with Yasoda's silas, we worshipped the Supreme Personality of Godhead while blissfully chanting His Holy Names. After an ecstatic kirtan, we had some readings from Visok's new book on Jayananda as well as devotees relating some personal and sometimes humorous stories of their own. Just to hear about this great devotee increases in one's own heart the desire to become pure and most importantly to attain the level of surrender that he has for Prabhupada.Then some sumptuous prasadam was honored and all gathered to enjoy the association of like minded souls till late in the evening and then we took rest till the next morning. The first night we packed ourselves into the ashram just like the old days, all lined up everywhere, curled within our sleeping bags while we happily fell asleep thinking of our continuing good fortune.
The next day was Lord Narasimhadev's appearance day and fasting all day as well. We had another rather quiet mongal arotik(due to the proximity of neighbors), tulasi puja, japa, and then class given by Kapindra maharaj.
Next we went to a conference room that Yasodanandan prabhu had rented for our use. This meeting began at 9am and went till 2pm. During this meeting we discussed various topics such asvarious ways toincrease the distribution ofSrila Prabhupada's books, increased cooperation among devotees for vaishnava festivals, renewed dedication to our sadhanaand Srila Prabhupadaandwho would distributeSrila Prabhupada's beautiful books in a timely manner as well . Various devotees such as Yasoda nandan, Vedaguhya,Narasimha, and Gupta said a few introductory things to summarize where we are going as a group . The need to cooperate was stressed again and again and all agreed.
Another major reason for this meeting was to discuss the points written in the paper called The Mission statement . In this paper which was written over the course of several months,we have carefully explained our position on guru tattva as well as sadhana practices, association, how to offer prasadam, and many other things as well. This paper was thoroughly gone over on sunday morning by all, reading each word carefully and then re writing it in some minor ways. The complete paper will be availabe in one months time on our website after it has been polished to perfection.There will also be on our website a Frequently Asked Questions section for those visiting it to further explain our positions.
So to summarize the sadhu sanga we all just experienced: It was historic, as one devotee put it, it was more than ecstatic, it was bliss, it was just like the old days where we all had great love and respect for one another, and most important of all, it was highly pleasing to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada since we are making definite and concrete efforts to correct the situation of this Hare Krsna movement.

...Unfortunately, when the acarya disappears, rogues and nondevotees take advantage and immediately begin to introduce unauthorized principles in the name of so-called svamis, yogis, philanthropists, welfare workers and so on. Actually, human life is meant for executing the orders of the Supreme Lord, and this is stated in
Bhagavad-gita (9.34):
The main business of human society is to think of the Supreme Personality of Godhead at all times, to become His devotees, to worship the Supreme Lord and to bow down before Him. The acarya, the authorized representative of the Supreme Lord, establishes these principles, but when he disappears, things once again become disordered. The perfect disciples of the acarya try to relieve the situation by sincerely following the instructions of the spiritual master. At the present moment practically the entire world is afraid of rogues and nondevotees; therefore this Krsna consciousness movement is started to save the world from irreligious principles. Everyone should cooperate with this movement in order to bring about actual peace and happiness in the world.
