Devotees Expelled From Laguna Beach
BY (NAME WITHHELD)
USA, Jan 5 (VNN) Panca Tattvas pujari, Bhaktavatara Dasa, has been expelled from the temple for performing Harinama Sankirtan. Bhakta Avatara had been performing Harinama Sankirtan with any devotees from the temple who would go out with him; but most preferred to take long naps instead. Tukarama Prabhu, the temple president asked Bhakta Avatara not to go out alone because he said it didn't look good. Bhakta Avatara being very attached to Harinama went out alone anyway because no one from the temple would join him.
He picked up a few people who joined him on a daily basis from the streets but that wasn't good enough for Tukarama Prabhu who kicked him and his young son Visnu out of the temple. They are now in LA trying to inspire devotees to join them on Harinama Sankirtan. They miss Their service to Sri Panca Tattva but know the best service is to engage in the Yuga Dharma, Harinama Sankirtan. Tukarama Prabhu is said to have asked anyone interested in doing some pujari or kitchen service should come to Laguna Beach temple or call him as soon as possible.
The general public have been very supportive of Bhakta Avatara and upset with the temple management for the last few years. Attendance has dropped off dramatically at the temple and at the Sunday feasts. One guest said she will only return to the temple when it is again Krsna's temple, not Tukarama Prabhus temple.
Once again mismanagement prevails in a management issue in ISKCON. This matter could of been better resolved by providing more devotees to do the Harinama instead of kicking out another devotee. In the last few years more than 30 devotees have been kicked out of the Laguna Beach temple most for simply complaining about the mismanagement.
