Digital Media to Preserve Eternal Message

USA (VNN) - Hare Krishna World reports that the Bhaktivedanta Archives (BA) is transferring the photo archives of Shrila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada to digital media. 2500 images have been converted so far. The project is part of an effort to preserve Shrila Prabhupada's legacy of books, audio and video tapes for an indefinite period of time. Ordinary magnetic tape and video as well as photographic negatives deteriorate over time until they become unreadable. Digital technology can preserve the words and images of Shrila Prabhupada for many generations to come. The Bhaktivedanta Archives have also released 18 CDs of lectures and conversations and plans to publish 12 additional CDs each year. The Bhaktivedanta Archives can be reached at archives@earthlink.net.
