New Book On Vedic Predictions

FROM ASIAN VOICE (UK)

ENGLAND, Sep 8 (VNN) — The following article published in the Asian Voice (UK), the largest English weekly in Europe for Indians and is reproduced with permission from the Asian Voice UK - featured in the weekly column "Screaming Hot Bhajiyas" by Ramesh Kallidai".

VEDIC PREDICTIONS ON WORLD RELIGIONS
By Ramesh Kallidai

"Vyasadeva is the Hindu answer to Nostradamus," claims 26 year old Navina Krishna Dasa from the Sena Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is a body of professionals who want to develop commercial projects aligned to Hindu values and charitable causes.

"And er.. is this the same Vyasdeva who wrote the Mahabharata 5000 years ago?" I asked a bit nonplussed. How come no one spoke about Vyasadeva's predictions while Nostradamus is eulogised, worshipped and quoted so often?

"The Vedas, Puranas and other ancient Hindu literature compiled by Vyasadeva give detailed and comprehensive predictions on the future," said Navin Krishna. "Although compiled 5000 years ago, the accuracy with which they predict the coming of Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, Chaitanya and other prophets is astounding. We have published a book with several Sanskrit verses on these predictions from authentic sources and translated them to English for the benefit of our Western audiences."

The book called "Vedic Predictions of World Religions" has been compiled and translated by a team of Indologoists headed by Sri Radharamana Dasa from the Sena Chamber of Commerce. The project was overseen by His Holiness Bhakti Vidya Purna Swami from the Rupanaga Vidyapitha from Mayapur in India and Pandit Dave, Britain's leading Sanskrit teacher.

The book market in Britain had been flooded by numerous books on futurology and hocus-pocus, so I wondered what was so special about this book.

"First of all, this book establishes the authenticity and accuracy of the Vedas," Navina Krishna retorted. "Most people think the Vedas are a collection of mythical and imaginary writings. This book will prove that the Vedic literatures are accurate, factual and bonafide. Even if one reader of the book feels motivated enough to study the Bhagavad-gita as a result of reading the book, I think our purpose will be fulfilled."

The book focuses on ancient links between different cultures and religions.

"It shows the Vedas had something to say on each of these religions. It allows non-Hindus to appreciate the accuracy of Hindu scriptures, while allowing Hindus to appreciate the Vedic viewpoint on other major faiths. It forms a good basis for interfaith interaction," finished Navina Krishna.

I looked at Navina Krishna's friend Vijay who was standing nearby with his hair spiked with half a bottle of gel, and remembered a prediction from the 12th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam. The verse which was written 5000 years ago (lavanyam kesa dhaaranam) predicts that in the modern age, the beauty of a person would be measured not by facial features but by the style of one's hair. No wonder our barbers are laughing all the way to the bank while our youngsters spend three hours every morning combing their hair. Even Nostradamus forgot this one. Ha!
