EDITORIAL December 20, 1999 VNN5111 Related VNN Stories Open Letter Of Apology To Srila Narayana Maharaja BY GAURAHARI DAS EDITORIAL, Dec 20 (VNN) — Dear Srila Narayana Maharaja, Please accept my humble heart felt obeisances . It is my hope that you will please forgive me for my many recent offenses made by this foolish person. For many months now I have been undergoing an intense purification of the severing of the attachment of having the worship of my wife, who I had also considered a disciple. When she abruptly rejected me as her guru because of being inspired to receive initiation and further guidance from you (Narayana Maharaja), I reacted very negatively. This was simply due to my attachment to being worshiped and honored being severed immediately. All the letters I wrote you and the posted Internet articles reflected this emotional upheaval and they could only transmit a distorted version of what was truly going on within this experience. From the deeper and more clear level of reality of what happened is that the Supreme Lord was actually favoring me through this experience by cutting away some anarthas in regards to worship and false prestige that were developing since I be In order to be free of the grave offense to this exalted Vaisnava, Srila Narayana Maharaja, I have surrendered myself at his lotus feet and I have been taking diksa initiation from him. For over one month in India I have had the great opportunity to closely observe Srila Narayana Maharaja, his disciples, and associates. It was my great fortune to associate with these spiritually advanced, loving, and kindhearted Vaisnavas. I got the opportunity to see a living practical example of the exalted mood of devotees that I have read about in Lord Caitanya's lila.
