EDITORIAL July 1, 1999 VNN4203 See Related VNN Stories | Comment on this story Response To "Someone Has Poisoned Me" Book BY KRISHNA VALLABHA DAS EDITORIAL, Jul 1 (VNN) — Dear Nityananda Das, please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, all glories to our Guru-varga. I have completed your book and found it a fascinating read. I especially became immersed in the diaries section of the book which I felt was so deeply moving and made me feel a lot of love for Srila Prabhupada. On page 377 you write "since, ISKCON defections to Narayana Maharaj has snowballed and become a serious factor in the weakening of Srila Prabhupada's Mission." I wish to address this remark as I feel it is my duty as Srila Narayana Maharaja's disciple. Any so called defections to Srila Narayana Maharaja have been due to the fact that those jivas who have some past life sukriti will naturally be attracted to the pure devotee's Hari Katha. Many disciples of many guru's went to hear Sukadeva Goswami speak the Bhagavatam, were they defectors, or wise men? The classes I had attended over the many years in ISKCON were nowhere near the caliber of class I hear when Srila Narayana Maharaja speaks. I leave fulfilled, inspired, greedy, uplifted and satisfied. I found the classes and experiences in ISKCON sometimes very dry due to lack of true Krishna bhakti, after all only one who has pure prema bhakti can give it. ISKCON is not an institution of four walls, rather it is where there is Krishna consciousness. Is Rupa Goswami not in ISKCON? Is he a defector too? Srila Narayana Maharaja has the deepest love, honor and respect for Srila Prabhupada, and ISKCON. I hope that you receive my comments in the best of ways, I do not mean any offense to you. I am like I told you on the phone, very grateful for your book. It is very tragic and true and I honor you for standing up and speaking out, and for taking the time to investigate what should be investigated. However, Narayana Maharaja is always in Srila Prabhupada's service, do not think different, it would be a grave offense. Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva have been bosom friends for many years before you had even been conceived! It was he who was asked to lay Srila Prabhupada in samadhi, not you, nor any of your godbrothers or anyone else in the Gaudiya line. Surely this says something of the love and respect Srila Prabhupada has for him. Gurudeva glorifies Srila Prabhupada in ways I have never seen or heard in ISKCON, it is so real and so deep. He lectures from his books constantly and is always inspiring his disciples to go deeper into Swamiji's teachings. Please take my words as a younger sister who Many blessings and best wishes to you, Good luck in your distribution of this book, I hope the truth comes out, Krishna is all powerful!
