Poison Reply
BY MAHABUDDHI DASA
EDITORIAL, Jun 19 (VNN) Devotees, we are sympathetic to Sriman Pragosh prabhu's comments regarding his doubt of the poisoning of Srila Prabhupada, that it just couldn't have happened because he was a "Saktyavesh Avatar".
Unfortunately, we have to disagree with him, not that Srila Prabhupada was not a Saktyavesh Avatar, no, but that Srila Prabhupada decided to leave when he could have stayed up to ten years longer as per the Kaviraja's comments.
The facts of the poisoning is not based on speculation, but that Srila Prabhupada said it himself! Not only once but several times. And the forensic evidence also proves this out. I also could not believe this for sometime, so, we can understand the mood of Sriman Pragosh prabhu. However, if one hears all of the final tapes in that series, you can hear it plainly that by the end not even ordinary respect was shown to Srila Prabhupada by some of our Godbrothers in charge of His care. This along with "poison" being mentioned for days on the tape recordings near Srila Prabhupada, and later scrutinized and researched by Professional Forensics investigators becomes bad news for those wishing to come to another conclusion. If you then match up the fact that Srila Prabhupada received 3 times the normal levels of "Arsenic" and enough to be lethal. What can you say?
Then if you listen to the tapes clearly, Srila Prabhupada also speaks that His Spiritual Master (Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada) was poisoned by His disciples also. (This was the first time I had ever heard this, and it was from Srila Prabhupada).
We know Srila Prabhupada is transcendental, and could leave whenever he wanted, yet he was so merciful that he tolerated those wishing ill to him.
His example of tolerance of the highest degree was exemplified in his character. In no way the fact that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned, deters from his character, status and position as an Utamah Adhikary. Srila Prabhupada left this world in Vrindaban, to the sound of Harinam Kirtan, (a transcendental departure for sure).
Yet,the fact still remains that some members of the his immediate staff appear to be implicated in doing the unthinkable. Let those devotee's step out in light of the mounting evidence and proclaim their innocence! A fact is a fact, just like Srila Prabhupada used to say that a swan can take milk even from a dirty place. So, you may feel nothing Nityananda prabhu could write could be true, or that every one concerned is a ritvik or deviant or enemy of ISKCON. I think not. Nityananda prabhu, published the information from many researchers acting on this issue; So, you would have to take issue with alot more persons than just Nityananda prabhu. Even the GBC has an official investigation that someday will publish their information as well. I know you also had issues with Nityananda prabhu regarding property, so why let our bias cloud an objective investigation? I for one am not convinced of those implicated innocence. Let them all plead their case to the assembled devotees and prove their position. But let us not fail to turn any leaf when it comes to this investigation, so that we can be true to Srila Prabhupada rather than toe artificially some party line.
