Justice Or Revenge?

BY SRILA DASA

EDITORIAL, May 13 (VNN) — Some of us may recall the anecdote Prabhupada once related of the two sons who fought behind the back of their father in the name of pleasing him but only to end up killing him. We are now witnessing Prabhupada's worst nightmare becoming a terrible reality in the form of a massive class-action lawsuit. Woe to us all!

That ISKCON's past is spotted with anomalies and unfortunate abuses is a fact few would contest. That the present power structure remains in serious need for further improvement also leaves little to doubt.

However, the present course of action advocated by Pratyatosa and Co. for a mass-scale lawsuit American style does nothing to improve the situation nor does it fairly redress the wrongs. What the court case does do is put close to half the award money into the pockets of unscrupulous lawyers (viz, "liars"), who make a patent business of exploiting victims and interpreting the laws to suit their own self-serving ethic -- $$$.

What about those who sue? Are they really getting justice or simply taking revenge? First of all, where is all the money they are hoping to win coming from? A big impersonal Lotto jackpot, I suppose? Are those who are actually guilty of the crimes being punished and paying for their sins? Or is our angry mob suing all of ISKCON's material assets, accrued over the course of a quarter of a century through the hard work and sacrifice of thousands of sincere souls, including the selfless contributions of Jayananda Prabhu and others?

Prabhupada's temples are still *his* temples, regardless of how they might have been misused or the temple funds misappropriated. I therefore wish to inform our sue-crazy individuals that if they continue in their reckless plan to rip ISKCON off for all it is worth, they are inevitably violating most sacred ground. These vindictive personalities are proposing to plunder not only the donations and hardworking sacrifices of countless of souls, whose sole desire was to serve the mission of guru and Gauranga, but also the very life blood of Srila Prabhupada and his rasion d'etre of coming to the West. Let these mad men remember they are selling off Jayananda's, Mother Gauri's and Prabhupada's legacy -- along with so many countless others -- and putting this blood-money into their own personal bank accounts. Is this what they call "justice"? Wouldn't Jayananda and Gauri and everyone else be so pleased? Wouldn't Prabhupada be so happy with these latest developments?

This class-action lawsuit is simply low-class, that's all. It is concocted by the perverted intelligence of kali-chelas, who advocate for a cure that is far worse than the disease. Kali-chelas dress like Vaisnavas, wearing kunti-mala and tilaka, even carrying japa, etc, but their the quality of their actions betray their real motives.

May God save us all from such "followers" of His Divine Grace. This latest breed of kali-chelas are far more hypocritical than those whom they so vehemently accuse. At least the abusers were ostensibly doing something positive to expand Prabhupada's mission and service, however defective that was. Our latest band of despicables can only destroy, offering nothing in return.

Let them live with their hellish mentality. Indeed, they are already enjoying the fruits of their vicious work in the form of their polluted consciousness.

They may speak of Prabhupada, Krsna and even Jayananda. But do they really think this course of action would be pleasing to any of them? Despte their KC (as in "PC") rhetoric, it's obvious that they cannot remember any of them. Not just Kali-yuga memory, but kali-chela.

Otherwise, how could they continue to act as they are doing?

Krsne matir astu.
