EDITORIAL May 4, 1999 VNN3789 See Related VNN Stories Srila Narayan Maharaj And Sri Giridhari's Letter BY ANONYMOUS EDITORIAL, May 4 (VNN) — It is true that Siva Ram Swami, Bhurijan and BB Govinda Swami went to Srila Narayan Maharaj to ask forgiveness for their offenses to him. (see "How Can We Forgive You?") Why don't all of you be honest enough to go to the Vaisnava public and speak of your change of heart? Why do you continue to allow other devotees to commit offenses to Srila Narayan Maharaj when you know that the greatest offense against the Holy Name is to blaspheme the devotees of the Lord who have propagated the glories of the Holy Name of the Lord. Srila Narayan Maharaj is certainly doing this a lot more than you as he can ignite and infuse the bhakti that is lying dormant within one's heart. Instead you all tow the party line for your own material objectives, (name and fame, money and followers). I myself have heard so much poison against Srila Narayan Maharaj, and never having met him, although I did not take it as the absolute truth as I know from practical realization how our Iskcon leaders are so easily able to cheat and lie, the poisonous statements do have a detrimental effect upon one's mind. We have some very spiritually foolish leaders and a lot more foolish followers, who simply accept a leader's statements only because it came from the leader's mouth, even if it contradicts guru, sadhu and sastra. Our Iskcon has degraded into a cult where we deny the reality of the above mentioned three, and instead accept the words of a particular person only because s/he has a position. We have lost our intelligence to discriminate properly. So many of us have become like zombies, who upon hearing the false statements and blasphemy of a particular leader, or leaders, just accept it without even trying to investigate. I would even go so far to say that I believe that some of our devotees are so stuck on the platform of relating to a particular person's position as leader, that if told to kill someone, (that it would be to the benefit of the Iskcon community), they would immediately, without any hesitation or contemplation, act on the order. We have gone so far as to blaspheme Krsna's pure devotee. Why don't you go and hear Narayan Maharaj? Don't be like blind fools who refuse to go outside of your well. There are many wonderful oceans of pure Vaisnavism beyond the steel walls of Iskcon. Siva Ram Swami and the other people who have gone to Narayan Maharaj to ask his forgiveness, why don't you be "Man" enough to go public and enlighten your Iskcon brothers and sisters. Do you think Krsna is pleased with your silence? I have to submit this anonymously because I am still living in an Iskcon temple and obviously if my identity is known, I will be in trouble.
