How Can We Forgive You?
BY GIRIDHARI DAS
EDITORIAL, May 2 (VNN) An open letter to Sivaram Swami
Dear Sivarama Maharaja,
It has come to our knowledge that your Holiness, along with some of your God-brothers, have recently approached our Gurudeva Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Maharaj to beg for forgiveness. We, the disciples of Srila Gurudeva, are like the dust of his lotus feet. Many of us were serving for many years in ISKCON. Due to our faith to Srila Guru Maharaj we were kicked out from your institution. We regard this as an act of mercy.
However, after seeing how our most revered Srila Guru Maharaja was attacked in a systematic way by the GBC propaganda department, we had to react. Therefore we have come to the conclusion that all ISKCON gurus who have been actively or passively involved in this Vaishnava-aparadha are not to be considered bona fide Vaisnava gurus.
I still remember one of your disciples saying that "Narayan Maharaj is not even a Vaisnava !". I was shocked. Didn't this foolish disciple know that his spiritual master, your Holiness, has been seriously taking siksa from Srila Narayan Maharaj for so many years? No, he didn't. All he knew was the following statement you made in a paper which was sent out to all devotees on the ISKCON mailing list prior to Gurudeva's arrival in Britain two years ago:
"...in conclusion, for followers of Srila Prabhupada not only does the involvement with Narayan Maharaja threaten guru-bhakti, but it is indicative of the root cause of conditional existence and the difficulty of advancing in Krishna consciousness...".
These words will go down in history as one of the nastiest form of Vaisnava-aparadha ever committed to Srila Swami Prabhupada and our Srila Guru Maharaja. Srila Swami Prabhupad regarded criticism of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Maharaj equal to "thunderbolts striking his head." (see letter to Srila Narayan Maharaj, 17-5-1967).
Your Holiness along with your GBC God-brothers, Tamal Krishna Maharaj, Ravindra Svarup, Suhotra Swami, Prthu, to name just a few, have poisoned the minds of so many innocent ISKCON members. Though the former chairman of the GBC, Robert C., has already faced the dreadful consequences of Vaisnava-aparadha, the GBC still continues to commit offenses against pure Vaisnavas - and you are a part of them.
Tell us Maharaj, how can we forgive you ?
